Alana's pov

🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊

It all happened centuries ago, the Markani, protector of the sea and those who live in and on it has protected the sea from any intruders that dares to steal, kill and overrule the kingdom of Antalano.

The kingdom of Antalano reached and stretched far into the islands within it's territory and every living creatures both on land and sea was protected by Markani.

Markani wasn't just a protector, he was a Saviour, a provider, a warrior that fought side by side with the mer-warriors of the sea that formed Antalano.

Legend has it that, Antalano is made up of five tribes: the Karni, the Lacna, the Atlas, the Pafîk and the Anholan.

These five tribes together form Antalano with the Anholan tribes being the strongest and bravest of them all.

These tribes has lived together for centuries that they decided to join forces and create a kingdom. One that which will be the talk of the seas and oceans beyond, one that which humans will fear and never trespass, one that which the sea monsters and all evil creatures who persisted to have Antalano will stay clear off and one that......

"Alana? Time for morning meetings." I was interrupted by a knock on my door and my best friend, Maya peeked her head in.

With an eye roll I turned to face her, " you know, it's not asking for permission to enter when you've already let yourself in." I replied while still sitting at the floor.

"As if you would have answered if I've knocked my knuckles off." She stepped into my room and walked towards me, gave me her hand, and pulled me up.

"My hero." I said with my palm on my chest and the battling of my lashes which led us to becoming a laughing fit.

Maya has been my friend for as long as I can remember. We've been friends since diaper age, literally and over the years, she's turned into a beauty.

A beautiful warrior might I add.

Maya is the only female child of her parents and she's got 6 brothers. Four that are older than her and two that are younger than her.

Ever since Maya was a child, she was always interested on warrior stuffs that she usually sneak into their training field just to watch them and I know this before 'cause I'm her best friend. Did I say that before? Yes, best friend.

Whenever other female children were under the watchful eyes of the women, been taught how to dance, make nests and baskets out of leaves, shrubs and twigs or even how to braid hair, Maya was always seen carving a stick with a sharp stone, turning it into a spear, fishing little fishes at the pool close to the women's hunt or even trying to climb a coconut tree just so she could coconut juice.

I never spent much time with the rest of the children either so Maya and I were likely most identical in this part.

She did warrior stuff while I did.... Water stuff. Yeah.

"So Elder Mahi had another vision and this time.... It's not good." Maya said in a concerned voice as we headed towards the Chief's hut. Were all informations are been passed through.

"What did she see this time? Because the last time we heard a prophesy from her was about five years ago." I asked with a worried tone of my own while attempting to avoid a falling coconut to my head.
