The First Month of "Fixing"

John suspects the reason he wasn't plagued with nightmares last night was due to the amount of fear Narisa put into him. Maybe she just scared them away. Or more likely he was just too tired to dream of anything.

Who really knows at this point. All John is aware of is the fact that instead of his nightmare waking him up, a knock brought him out of slumber.

Speaking of which, John looked to the entryway and saw Fyora standing there with her hand positioned next to the door.

She noticed that he was awake and put her hand down. "Good morning Mr. Doe, I hope you slept well. It is time to get up and start the day. I ask that you please get showered and changed. In the meantime, I will bring you your breakfast and assignments for today."

John was immediately confused. "What do you mean assignments?"

John figured he would have to go back to school at some point, but he just moved here yesterday. Were they not going to let him settle in?

"Exactly as I said, assignments. Your guardians have decided to start you off as soon as possible so you are caught up for when the next year rolls around. I hope it does not pose an issue."

John could see her eyes narrow at him. A sudden chill washed over and he tried to shake it off.

"N-no no, not at all."

"Good. Now I will be downstairs, please start getting ready. There should be clothes in the closet that are suitable for you to wear." With that Fyora took her leave, slightly closing the door to a crack.

John sighed as he lethargically got out of his bed. Before heading to the bathroom, the teen quickly walked around his room and into the closet. He didn't really get a chance to inspect the whole place yesterday other than a few details. Taking a closer look, the room was standard for a lavish place of luxury with too many books scattered around. The closet was of course a walk in, but instead of being filled with his personal clothes, it was brimming with dress shirts, polos, and sweaters. There was also a place for jeans. And then he realized.

Oh god. I have to wear jeans. They expect me to wear nice shirts and jeans.

After seeing the list of rules, John didn't think it could get any worse. Apparently he just had terrible luck and it had to involve jeans. Little known fact, John hated jeans. Even more, he hated dress shirts. They are too restricting and always made him feel way too stuffy.

Now he is expected to wear them.

Every.

Single.

Day.

Taking yet another heavy sigh, John retreated back out to the room and went into the bathroom. It, like the closet and bedroom, was a typical bathroom with an expensive price tag. So taking a minute to figure out how in the world to turn on the shower, John stripped and stepped into the now boiling water.

Out of all the crappy things in this situation, John was glad that his shower wasn't one of them. The shampoo and conditioner smelt nice, the body wash seemed pricey. He could have spent hours just soaking up the heat from the water, but alas eventually he left the warmth and dried off.

With a towel around his waist, the ravenette walked back into his massive closet filled with terribly uncomfortable clothing. John begrudgingly picked a pair of dark blue jeans and an off gray button up.

When he exited his closet, he spotted on the desk a plate of fruit and a piece of toast. Next to the food were 2 books and a small note. John walked over and peered down at the note.

Mr Doe, this is your assignment for today. Please read these books and then write a report. There worksheets for you to work on when you are finished.
