Emiliana

I didn't think I would ever get here, but here I am. I just got promoted to assistant manager at work. I've kind of been wanting to get a promotion, a better salary, and more hours but I like working here. This library is probably my favorite place in town. I usually read books to children on Saturday mornings. I also work at the daycare next to the library, which every single mother love, I work there Wednesday and Saturday. I make orders after the boss gives me a list. I clean up a little, which I won't do anymore since I've been promoted. I do my homework here after my shifts. This is a job I love. Most people would get bored but I don't.

"How was work?" Maria asks.

"-It was good, hectic. It's Wednesday so no surprises there.

-At least you like your job.

-How is the infuriating boss?"

Maria moved to France, to get into a professional French highschool, she has a work/school balance. It's good because it pays well, plus, she gets to live where her sister lives.

"-So mean, like I know he's a chef but it's no reason to be that infuriating.

-He's hot though, looked him up. I thought he'd be older.

-Hot and mean. I got to get back, call you later?

-Of course, try to stay calm.

-Maybe."

I end the call and get back to my homework. This English teacher really thought he did something with this essay. It is so easy, it makes me want to not do it.

"Hey, Emi."  Julien whispers.

Julien is a French exchange student. I was stunned by how he spoke almost perfect English when he arrived. He's funny, and always makes me laugh. I think he's the first guy I met that makes me believe there are some good young guys out there.

"Hey, what's up?"

He sits down and takes a notebook out of his bag.

"I know we're not in the same high school, but could you help me with this English essay?"

"Of course. Let's do this."

He helps me with my French, the least I can do is help him with an English essay.

I take the paper with the assignment on it. It was probably the easiest essay a teacher could assign, even easier than mine. Julien widened his eyes at me when I said it was easy. I helped him and got home straight after getting dinner at Mcdonald's. I don't get food there a lot, it's an exception because my parents are out of town.

My alarm rings, it's 4:30 in the morning. I toss and turn for a good fifteen minutes before I get up, get dressed in a gym outfit, eat breakfast and run to the gym with my phone and water. I start to work out as my playlist begins. Once I'm done, I run back home and take a shower. I get ready for school.

"Do you want to hang out today?"

Julien knows I don't work on Thursday. I take a few minutes to respond to his text. I am tired but I want to go out and hang out.

"Depends on where you want to go and do."

"I was thinking about my house. Is that okay?"

Julien lives with his uncle, who is always out of town. I can't help but have a dirty thought. He must be a good kisser. Argh, what am I thinking?

"Can't. Too tired, sorry. Another time is good for me."

"We'll talk about it when I visit your work next week."

"Fine with me."

Our relationship has definitely been, interesting. He's flirty, and so am I. Where could that go? I don't really have time for a boyfriend with work and school. Maybe he doesn't want more, or maybe he does.
