51. The Tree

Chapter 51: The Tree

Melissa's POV:
"I miss Fizzy and Lottie and the twins and the other twins." I say playing with Louis hand. We were on a plane back to Doncaster and it was Louis birthday tomorrow. "Yeah I miss them too." He says chuckling. "You know what else I miss?" I ask. "What?" He asks. "Being pregnant. It feels amazing just carrying a little miracle." I say looking at Alex that was on his lap. "Well I'll be glad to make you pregnant again." He says. "Yeah but it's not the right time. We have the wedding to do." I say. He nods and I kiss his hand. "I'll tell you when." I say. He smiles and I lean on him. Once we land we quickly get off the plane.

We claim our baggage and see Dan and Lottie walk into the airport. We meet and hug. "I haven't seen you in so long." I say hugging Lottie. "I know. I missed my selfie sister." She says. I giggle and we pull away. We go to their car and put Alex's car seat in. "Is everyone else home?" Louis asks. "Yeah. Mum is cooking dinner and Fizzy has the decorations ready so we could decorate the tree like old times." Lottie says. Dan was driving and Lottie was in the passenger seat. Louis and I were sitting in the back with Alex. "I've never decorated a Christmas tree before." I say. "What?" Lottie asks me shocked.

"Yeah Hilda always decorated the tree." I say. "And we were thinking you've done it all." Dan says. "Why because I'm American?" I ask. "Yes." He says. I shake my head and they laugh. "You can decorate with us. We'll add you to our tradition." Louis says holding my hand. I smile and lean on him. "A tradition at my house was staying up eating waffles watching White Christmas." I say. "Man I love that movie." Dan says. "What?" Lottie asks confused. "You haven't watched White Christmas?" I ask. "I've never heard of such a movie." Louis says.

"Oh god. If my parents have time to come we'll add you to our tradition." I say. "Melissa I think it's because we're both old." Dan says. "Speak for yourself old man." I scoff. He laughs and Lottie turns to me. "What do you mean if your parents have time? It's Christmas." She says. "Yeah but recently we haven't been spending holidays together. I mean last year I spent it with the boys and the year before that with Tyler." I say. "Well you're always welcome to have Christmas with us." Dan says. "Aww, look at that. Jack Frost has a heart." I say patting Dan's shoulder. He shakes his head and we laugh.

"Just kidding. Thank you for including me in your family. Plus it's Alexander's first Christmas it has to be special." I say. Louis nods and I nod. With more chat we finally get to the house. "I'm home!" Louis cheers jumping out. "Home sick much?" I ask chuckling and climbing out. "I'm so excited. Our first Christmas together!" He squeals picking me up. I giggle and he kisses my cheek. "Oh my gosh it's snowing." I gasp seeing snow around and some sprinkling from the sky. "I miss snow." Louis says. "It's cold." I say zipping up my jacket. I make sure to cover Alex up then quickly go inside.

"Baby put on your hood. I don't want you to get sick." I shout out the door. He puts it on as him and Dan unload the car. I walk into the warm home and immediately get greeted by warmth. I take off my shoes and jacket then walk to the kitchen slowly letting Alex get used to the warmth. "Melissa." Jay cheers seeing me. "Hi Jay." I say smiling. She hugs me then grabs Alex. "My little grandson is growing up quick." She says. There's footsteps then the girls run in. "Hi girls." I say smiling. "Melissa!" They cheer. I hug Daisy and Phoebe then Fizzy. "Where are the little babies?" I ask.

"In their nursery." She says. Fizzy and I go to the nursery and I pick up Earnest and she picks up Dorris. I kiss them repeatedly and we go into the kitchen. Louis was already in here and he had red cheeks and a red nose smiling at his mom. Louis takes Earnest from me and I help Dan take things to our room. "First time being cold on Christmas." I say. "It must suck being stuck in LA on Christmas. I think snow gives you more Christmas spirit." Dan says. I nod and he lets me get settled. I unpack some things and Louis comes in with Alex. "It feels so good to be back." He says putting Alex down on the bed and taking off his hoodie.
