Chapter 32: The Game

Melissa's POV:
"I'm so nervous." Louis says as we get driven to the stadium. It was the day of his charity game and he was nervous. "Don't be nervous you're going to be great." I say kissing his knuckles. He sighs and looks at Alex and I. "Both of you look great." He says since we were both wearing his jersey. I smile and he chuckles. "We're your number one fans." I say. "Oh god." He groans. I laugh and he chuckles. He holds my hand tightly and we finally get there. We get out of the car and Louis carries Alex's car seat. "You need to go back there babe. I need to go to my seat with your mum." I say.

He groans and I smile. "Good luck babe." I say cupping his face. He looks at me and nods. "And have fun." I say. He nods again and smiles. "I love you." He says. "I love you too." I say. He gives me a long kiss then kisses Alex. I blow kisses at him as we walk away. We go to the box where his friends and family were. "Hey." I say greeting everyone. The team comes out and does the anthem. They start practicing and I hold Alex watching Louis stretch and everything. Once the game starts Alex was asleep. I put the headphone on him so it won't hurt his ears. "This is so nerve wracking." Jay says.

I nod and we watch attentively. The ball gets passed to Louis and he runs close to the goal. I gasp and watch as he kicks the ball to the goal. It gets blocked and I groan. "So close." Dan says clapping. I nod and we watch. I had Alex next to me so I could keep an eye on him. Louis had the ball and he passes it to another teammate. That player goes up to the goal but gets blocked. He passes it back to Louis who passes it to another player. That player passes it to another player who makes a goal. We all jump and cheer and so does the crowd. The score by halftime is 3-4, Louis and his team were loosing. We wait until it finally started again.

I was so nervous wondering if they lose Louis would be sad. His team scores another goal making it tied. There was 20 minutes left and the girls and I had our fingers crossed. The ball gets past to Louis and people shouted. He runs to the goal and kicks it. The goalie jumps to the side and the ball grazes the tips of his fingers making it into the goal. Everyone cheers and I jump up cheering too. The team cheers and hugs Louis and he runs down the field cheering and pointing at me. I point back and he smiles. "Oh god I feel like a proud mother." I say wiping a tear that escaped my eye. "Me too." Jay says.

We laugh and Alex wakes up. I hold him and tell him his daddy was playing in the field. He just watched with the big headphones on. The girls kept taking pictures of him and I look at the field. Louis and a player from the other team run to the ball. Some other team members from both sides go too and Louis gets kicked and he falls on the ground in pain. "Oh my god." I gasp seeing him roll around in pain. The referee blows his whistle and the people surround him. Someone helps him up as the referee talks to him. Louis says something and nods stretching.

They continue the game and he gives me a thumbs up running down the field. I chuckle and wipe another tear that escaped my eye. The crowd cheers him on and his team luckily score another goal. The game ends with the score being 5-4. I leave to the hallway that had the doors to the locker rooms and showers. I call the hotel we were staying at and ask them to run a bath for Louis so he could relax. The players greet me and Alex as they leave. Louis finally comes out in his uniform and bag. "Babe." I cheer putting Alex's chair down and opening my arms. He limps to us and I pull him into a hug.

"Careful love." He chuckles as I squeeze him. "What's wrong? Are you hurt?" I ask pulling away. "Just a little but I'm fine." He says. "Are you sure?" I ask. He nods and opens his arms again. I smile and hug him again. We see flashes and I see paparazzi taking pictures of us. "It's okay. Ignore them." He says. "Congratulations babe. You did great." I say kissing his cheek. "Thank you." He says pulling away. He puts his bag down and grabs Alex. "Let's go back to the hotel." He says grabbing the chair. I nod and put his bag over my shoulder. We get helped by security into our car and get in.
