You look at the clock on your phone which read 10:30. Your head falls limp in your hand as you stare between your phone screen and your notebook that was now covered in doodles, how had it only been half an hour since the beginning of your lecture, you still had another hour and a half to go at least. Todays lecture was the start of Law in Media, you were usually very alert when it came to your lectures, the pages in your notebook filled back to front with colourful notes, thoughts, opinions and questions, but Law ... not so much, you tried to take notes at the start but boredom soon took over causing you to zone out and mindlessly doodle over what useless notes you'd already written down. You go back to your phone briefly to text your roommate Clio.

[Y/n 10:37]

"Hey, what are you doing in around an hour?"

[Clio 10:38]

"Nothing, why? ... Wait, aren't you in class?"

[Y/n 10:39]

"It's boring as shit, wanna grab a coffee when I'm done, I think I'm gonna need it after this snooze fest."

[Clio 10:41]

"Anything for you girlie."

You smile at her response as you tuck your phone away again and attempt to pay attention to the last hour of your session, coming out of it with even a small amount of notes is better than going away with nothing at all. You were finally free when your lecturer decided to dismiss you for the day. You'd never been so quick to thrown your things into your bag as you were today, no organisation just swiped off the desk into the bag which you slung over your shoulder and headed for the door. You sent another text to Clio telling her you'd left and you were on your way just to be sure she was ready.

When you got to the coffee shop you weren't surprised to see that Clio wasn't there, you had grown used to the fact she's always late, it was that much of a habit you both made jokes about how she'd be late to her own funeral. While you waited for her to arrive you bought your coffee's and found a nice spot to sit next to a window. Just when you were about to drop her a text asking where she was that's when she came flying through the door scanning the room for you. "Sorry, I fell asleep waiting for you to finish class." You couldn't hold back your chuckle, you could picture her watching one of her cheesy dramas while she waited ultimately ending up sprawled out over the couch like a starfish asleep, you knew this is what happened because you've come home to it many times before and always made jokes about it to here. "It's okay, I got your coffee, cappuccino with extra chocolate dusting just the way you like it." She beamed at you in thanks as she took the cup with both hands holding it to her nose. "So, how bad was the class?" Clio asked before taking a small sip of her coffee. "Oh it was so bad, I'd find a lot more entertainment in watching paint dry." You scoff. "That bad huh? What are you on now?"

"Law in media." You roll your eyes wanting to forget the whole thing. "LAW!? You're studying to be a journalist not a fucking lawyer." Clio laughs seeing how annoyed you are over it all. "I know but we need to know what's legal and what's not for media, we need to be able to cover our asses if we get a really juicy story." Clio gives a light nod acknowledging where you're coming from. "Have you heard anything from that company you applied for an internship at?" You nod nervously at her question, you were so happy you got in but you were dreading the interview, you've never been very good at hyping yourself up to others and the constant thoughts of how you could mess up were really making you nervous. "Yeah, I've got an interview tomorrow with the C.E.O of all people." You took a nervous sip from your coffee avoiding your roommates beaming eyes at the news. "That's great I'm so happy for you, my favourite girl in a big shot company that's amazing!" You smile at her enthusiasm grateful for how much faith she had in you for getting through the interview successfully to begin with. "I need to do well tomorrow before you can go bragging to people." You laugh as she swats away your doubts with her hand. "You'll do amazing I know you will, there's no need to be nervous." Your laugh came out a little louder than you planned, catching the attention of some people sat around the coffee shop. "I'm filled head to toe with anxiety I don't think not being nervous is an option."
