yay! today we have an insecure aether with a comforting reader! this is going to be a modern au and mostly a chatfic! i thought i'd try something new! with that being said, let's move on, happy reading, readers!

it was currently 11pm. you were sitting down on your bed, watching tv and texting your boyfriend. looking down at your laptop, you smiled as you received a text from said male. as your eyes skimmed the message you began to type a response.

what did you do today?

well today i hung out with tartaglia
and he said, "where did the person i was just talking to go?"
i was confused so i started looking around
so, he clarified what he meant
and apparently, he was calling me short, so i left.

giggling to yourself at aether's childish act, you logged into a separate account. aether tended to act in similar ways. you decided to shoot him a message once more, only to find out your other account was also blocked.

now sighing, you decided to let time pass. you turned your focus onto the movie you were watching, eating popcorn. you were all comfy and cozy. all your tasks were done for the day. your head was slowly nodding off as you began to drift off to sleep.

you almost fell asleep until you heard a knock at your door. now awake, you rushed out your room and down the stairs. unlocking the door, you were greeted with a certain blond-haired boy. you started to speak but was interrupted by a hug.

"can i stay over? i'm lonely..." aether mumbled out, burying his head on top of yours. giggling you returned the hug. "of course, but i need to close the front door..." aether let out a tiny groan and released you from the hug.

you shut the front door, locking it once more. you grabbed aether's soft hand, trudging back to your room up the stairs. as you made it up the stairs and to your room, you plopped down onto your bed, face first.

mumbling random unintelligible words into your blanket, you hopped the rest of your body onto the bed, covering yourself in your fuzzy fur blanket. aether giggled at your actions as he sat on your bed, getting comfortable and laying down beside you.

aether cradled you as the two of you got comfy in your bed. you buried your face into aether's neck and let out a relaxed sigh. the blond-haired male patted your head as the two of you enjoyed each other's company.

embracing the comforting silence, you grew sleepier, but you didn't want to leave aether to be awake alone, so you pushed through it. "aether can i play with your hair? " you asked, sitting up. aether pushed up and sat straight. he gave you a nod with a smile.

returning the smile, you got off the bed to grab some detangler, a brush, and random clips you found in a container in your closet to decorate his hair. bringing all the supplies back to your bed and put the supplies onto your bed with a plop then hopped back onto the cozy mattress.

once you got situated, you took out aethers braid, let it fall down. you grabbed the detangler and sprayed some on aethers hair. next, reaching for your brush, you combed through his hair with ease.

you experimented with different styles, deciding how you wanted to put it. while you were busy playing with the blond hair of your boyfriend, you could tell that aether was having just as much fun as you were. he was clearly relaxed and enjoying himself.

smiling as you found the style you liked the most, you pulled the container of clips towards you as you lifted up the lid. reaching for a greenish lime coloured butterfly clip you gently clipped it to his hair. rummaging through the box of clips, you picked out a few different clips.

closing the lid of the box, you placed the chosen clips onto the lid as you proceeded pick and choose which clips go where. the movie in the background was white noise, along with the cars passing by, you could hear the sounds through your open window.

soon finishing your mini project on aether's hair, you hopped off your bed and went reach for you mirror. aether gave you a curious yet happy look as he watched you do a little dance with your head swaying left to right.

you handed aether the mirror and watched his eyes light up. "do you like it? " you asked, tilting your head over to the side as you slightly jumped back up onto your bed. aether gave a content hum and looked at you.

"can i do your hair now? " aether asked, you nodded got into a comfy position, preparing for aether to play with your hair. the blonde-haired male sprayed your hair the detangler and brushed through your hair with ease.

 he styled your hair and rummaged through your box of clips, sorting through the clips he found would look nice. attaching the clips in random spots, you decided you were getting hungry. as you waited patiently for aether to finish doing your hair, you pondered about what to eat.

as aether finished up with the final clip you heard a little sound of accomplishment come from the male. aether passed over the mirror that was lying beside him and handed it to you. looking at your new hair style in the mirror, you smiled to yourself.

"it looks great, aether! thank you! " you thanked the boy as he patted your head, being careful as not wreck the newly made hairdo. you reached over to your nightstand and picked up your phone as you began to speak. "aether what do you want to eat? "

though it was currently 2am, you were hungry and wanted a 2am snack. "how does f/r sound? "(favourtie/restaurant) your eyes light up at the suggestion as you opened the installed app on your phone for mobile order and delivery.

you choose your food of choice and aether's food of choice and preordered the food. "alright! the food should be here in about 30 minutes! " you declared, proudly putting your phone down. you looked over to aether who was watching the movie.

you had forgotten your tv was still on, playing through a bunch of different movies you had saved every time one finished. you watched aether's expression, he was watching the movie intently, focused as to not miss a second.

you giggled to yourself as to put your hand over your mouth to hold the sound. this had caught aether's attention. he looked at you with a playful-insulted expression. "what's the matter?" he asked, huffing and pouted. you smiled and started to speak. "aww, you're my pretty boy! "
