The name is derived from Sombrero, hombre (Spanish for man) serenade, braid (like braiding hair, which El Sombrerón does), and brade (to move very quickly). I took inspiration from scarecrows, vaqueros/cowboys, tumbleweed, dorodango, and cornhusk dolls.
