~Knox's POV~
Flora blinked as I turned on the light beside the bed, casting a small amount of light through the mostly dark bedroom. I peered down at her and leaned into her figure more, not missing the flush of pink that filled her cheeks when I did so.
"I'm sorry, you know." I told her softly, watching the edge of her lips twitch up on one side. "For the way I treated you, ignored you. I lost sight of what was really important, then, all because of insignificant people and their opinions." I muttered, to which she just shook her head and gave a loose shrug of her shoulders.
"For a long time, I imagined what I'd do if you ever said sorry. I used to tell myself that I'd never forgive you, that I'd just laugh in your face because that was the treatment you deserved from me." She admitted, her fingers brushing over my shoulders and onto my back. I barely managed to restrain a shudder from her touch, but I puffed out a breath and watched her face closely. "But I don't think I can do either one of those things anymore."
Her mirky blue-green eyes peered up at me and I pressed closer to her, my eyes flicking down to her lips. I ducked my head and brushed my lips against the side of her neck, listening to the hitch of her breath and the shaky exhale that escaped her throat. "K-Knox..." Flora stammered out a shaky whisper, so quiet that I barely heard it. Still, fire crept through my veins and I clasped her waist, nipping at the slope of her neck until she shuddered beneath me.
"God, what the hell have you done to me, Flora?" I breathed, unsure why I wanted her so badly. I'd never thought of her like this when we were kids. She had always just been Flora, but this was different. She was still Flora, but I wanted more from her now, in ways that I hadn't before.
I threaded my fingers into the soft, short strands of hair at the back of her head and gently tugged, exposing her throat to me. She gasped and dug her nails into my shoulder blades when my tongue found her neck, trailing up to a spot that I wanted to suck until the skin bruised. A shaky hand of hers trailed down my back and I groaned against her throat, absentmindedly pushing my hips between hers as I hovered over her.
My fingers left her hair and grasped the wrist of her hand that lingered near my spine, pinning it down into my pillows. She gasped, seemingly surprised by the action, and peered up at me with flushed cheeks and eyes that had grown darker. I gazed at her mouth, pink and full and practically begging me to take it. "Fuck, do I want to kiss you." I muttered, watching as she bit down on her bottom lip.
"Please." She whispered, and I certainly wasn't a man who was good at saying no when I wanted something. Who was I to resist her?
Despite her asking, she seemed genuinely surprised when my lips closed over hers, her eyes wide before she seemed to practically melt beneath me. A soft moan left her as I released her wrist to instead grip the back of her neck, nipping at her bottom lip with my teeth. I tugged her lip and she moaned again, the sound making my cock stir. "Fuck." I blew out a breath and sealed my lips over hers, kissing her until I felt her mouth part enough for her tongue to swipe against my bottom lip. Her tongue slid teasingly against mine as I opened my mouth for her, the little moan that left her driving me to press my hips further between her thighs.
Flora's body reacted to the action first and she moaned, bucking her hips against me as I felt her skirt hike up further. "K-Knox!" She gasped and pulled away after she realized what she had done, an embarrassed yet aroused flush in her cheeks. I looked down at her and frowned in confusion, unsure what was wrong. "What?" I breathed, furrowing my brows.
She shifted, glancing down to where my hips were between her thighs. "I...can't. Um, I mean, I've never done anything but kiss someone." She admitted quietly, taking me by surprise. I stared at her for a second, my lips parted, before I pulled away. "Shit." I muttered. "I'm sorry, doll face. I never considered you might be a virgin." I apologized, hoping that I didn't make her feel pressured.
"No, it's okay." She said softly. I sat beside her and watched her as she sat up, adjusting her skirt. "Um, I should probably go put on pajamas." She realized, glancing my way before she slid out of my bed and grabbed a change of clothes. The bathroom door gently shut behind her and I sighed to myself as I leaned back, rubbing a hand over my face. "I'm an idiot." I mumbled to myself. Hopefully I hadn't already made things awkward between us by practically fucking dry humping her in my bed, like some fifteen year old boy.
I waited until Flora came back from the bathroom before I scooted over to my side of the bed again, giving her space as she climbed into bed again. She glanced at me and cocked a brow, stretching one of her legs out over the blanket. "Surely you're not going to tip toe around me now just because you know I haven't had sex before?" She chuckled, the sight of her smile causing my lips to part. I hadn't seen her smile like that in a long time, much less had she laughed around me.
For a second I just stared at her, before I gave a quick shake of my head. "No, no." I assured her, slightly embarrassed. "I just hadn't expected it." I explained. I mean, she was twenty two and so beautiful that I somehow doubted she hadn't had men who wanted her.
A smile tugged up on her lips. "It's not a big deal, you know. I just kind of never...met anyone." She told me, brushing a strand of brown hair behind her ear. "And the guys that I did meet, well, turned out to be assholes." She added. I snorted in amusement and she giggled, laying down on her side so she was facing me with her head propped up in her hand. "What about you? Never met anyone, either?" She asked, blinking up at me.
"Mm, no." I shook my head. "Not anymore, at least. There was one girl, but that was two years ago and she's long gone now." I admitted, shrugging my shoulders. It was meant to be a brief statement, not a topic to linger on, but Flora's pretty eyes sparkled with curiosity and I knew it wasn't going to be that.
"Really? What was her name? What happened?" She wondered, cocking up a brow. I pursed my lips and raised a brow at her, a bit surprised at her curiosity. "Ah, her name was Gabriela. The details aren't really important, but...She ended up leaving me because she met someone else." I recalled, brushing my fingers through my hair. I could feel Flora's eyes on the side of my face, watching me closely.
"She...left you?" Flora echoed, sounding stunned. I cocked up a brow and smiled slightly, nodding. "Yeah, but it was probably for the better, anyway. Gabriela was...well, the clingy type, to put it simply." I chuckled, shaking my head.
Flora smiled and nudged my leg with her knee. "Clingy not your thing, then?" She teased, earning an amused smile from me. "Are you trying to joke with me, doll face?" I poked back at her, a smirk growing on my lips at the way she flushed in embarrassment.
"No." She grumbled, however not so convincingly. I chuckled, leaning a little closer towards her with a hand pressed into the sheets. "You're cute when you're pouting like that, you know." I told her in a hum, reaching out to gently brush my fingers through the short strands of her hair. She bit her bottom lip and narrowed her eyes at me, a gasp leaving her when I suddenly leaned closer, letting my lips brush hers. For a moment I waited to see if she'd push me away or tell me to stop, but she did neither of those things.
Instead, she leaned the rest of the way in and sealed her lips over mine.
