Chapter 9 - Watch This

"No. You were right. Don't feel guilty. Just go wherever you wish to go, i'll wait here for your friend. Thank you" I looked up and gave him a genuine smile.

I was flustered when he smiled back but managed to keep my face still "no problem. Be careful" he nodded to me then ran outside as soon as he did it.

I stayed still for a few minutes then looked around to look for Minseok's friend. I couldn't see him anywhere so i sat to the nearest table and decided to wait.

'Do i really need to wait one hour to just go home ?' I thought to myself

10 minutes passed and my mind was set. I got up from my seat and headed to the door. "Ya! Where are you going?" Someone called out. But was he talking to me? I kept walking and suddenly someone grabbed my shoulder. "I'm asking you a question. It'd be polite if you could answer it" he said. That wasn't very nice to say. I turned around, turned out it was that Minseok's friend.

"I'm going home." I answered in a 'matter of fact' tone.

"Yeah well if you haven't heard earlier, Minseok hyung wants me to take you home." He replied in a same tone. I wasn't usually a rude kid, but this guy just triggered me to be. Don't expect me to get along with him and i bet he thought the same way.

"Well if you noticed earlier, i don't want you to take me home although i really appreciate you and minseok's offer." I gave a quickly tight smile before turned around to the door.

I heard him sighed. "Could you just please wait for a moment ?" He chased me out of the door. The sudden cold hit me right away and i regret myself for not wearing thick clothes or bringing any jacket. I heard the cafe door opened and closed again. He went inside, i guessed he didn't care if i got home alone.

Suddenly, something was thrown over my my head from behind. I took it and turned around. It was a jacket. I raised my eyebrows at him "thought you finally let me out alone"

"I told minseok hyung i'd take you home safely and that's what im gonna do" he replied as he put his own jacket

I gave him a look "you could just tell him that you did and i wouldn't tell him the truth"

"Stop arguing with me. I'm taking you home, like it or not. I'm not gonna lie to minseok hyung. And just put that damn jacket on, it's really cold" he urged.

I put the jacket as i rolled my eyes. What surprised me the most was, his loyalty to minseok was really incredible.

He walked to my side, syncing his steps to me. The trip was silence ever since. I kept blowing my hand due the coldness. "Here" i looked up and saw him offering me a hot pack. I gave him a questional look and he just put the thing in between my hands. The warmness spread through my palms slowly, it felt good.

"Thanks" i mumbled

"Don't mention it"

We continued walking but not long after, he asked me a question breaking the silence. "Are you new a new student?"

'What?' "Yeah, how do you know? I answered

"Never saw minseok hyung had a partner in projects before. Even if he had, no one actually cared to come all the way here or even did the project." He shrugged

"Why?" I blurted out without thinking it through. I then remembered kai's stories and started to figure out the reasons.

"You really are new" he said with amusement lingering in his tone and sounded like he said it more to himself than to me. "And yeah, you should've known the reason by now"
