Paige and Derek are partners for a class project during their senior year of high school and they spend most of their time at the Stilinski house which rivals the size of the Hale house. Derek thinks Paige is sweet, quiet, but definitely a spitfire no nonsense girl as well. If anything, he's grateful for a friend. He doesn't have many real ones.

Summer comes around and Paige is ecstatic about her older brother coming home. She is bubbly and all around bouncing off the walls in anticipation. Derek has heard amazing things about her older brother. How he travels all over the world and she shows Derek the gifts and postcards from every place he's been. She doesn't give too much away though and Derek doesn't pry.

A couple weeks into the summer Derek shows up at the house and sees a strange dark blue jeep wrangler in the driveway that he's never seen before. He notices the various bags and makes his way over.

"Here let me help you with that."

The guy looks up as Derek picks up a couple bags. "Thanks man. You must be Derek. Right?"

Derek had every intention of answering but his mind goes blank. How is this guy real? "I-I uh—"

Paige bolts outside and runs towards them. "Mika!!"

The man drops his bag and wraps his arms around her. "Hey bug."

She laughs and pulls away gesturing. "Mika this is Derek. Derek, this is my brother Mika."

"Stiles works too." He offers his hand to Derek who shakes it still a bit out of it but no one can blame him. They'd probably go stupid if they were faced with an angel too.

Stiles, Paige, their parents, and Derek gather for dinner where Stiles talks about his latest trip to London and about his music. Derek finds him mesmerizing. He also notices that Stiles's gaze is often on him though maybe that's just his imagination.

That night Derek was already planning to stay over. Paige turns in and Derek finds he can't sleep. He ends up at the window seat looking at the sky. Stiles leans against the wall nearby and watches the beautiful man that he couldn't take his eyes off of. Paige had told him many stories about her best friend but honestly Stiles hadn't been expecting Derek.

Over the next few weeks, they gravitate towards each other. Not always consciously and until Paige seeks Derek out one night Derek hadn't even realized it. Paige was afraid Derek being interested in her older brother meant the end of their friendship. Derek promised that was not and never would be the case. Stiles hears and is grateful because he'd never willingly pursue someone who would throw his sister to the side.

This is why, one day, Stiles convinces Derek who had been sunning on the dock to follow him after he gets out of the lake. The two of them end up behind a tree, their lips and tongues devouring each other. Derek was beyond surprised but no way in hell was he turning it down.

The two of them found themselves in a battle of tongues quite frequently before finding themselves in bed together the last week of summer. Derek couldn't get enough of Stiles's piercings and tattoos. It was hot, passionate and wild.

Sadly, summer was coming to a close and Derek found a pamphlet, in Stiles's room, for a new trip. He didn't wait for Stiles to explain before bolting. He should've known better than to get his hopes up.

Paige finds her brother sitting numbly on his bed. In his hands is travel information for two.

He looks at her his eyes shining with unshed tears. "I was going to ask him to go with me. He said he was going to defer college for a year when I asked about schooling. I have the money, Bug. But he found the pamphlet before I could explain and bolted."
