A news reporters from Australia, sat down in front of the camera to tell the story he was given.
"Hello ladies and gentlemen." He told to the audience. "Tonight's story is about one America helping Vietnam after the events back in May. Vietnam was completely disseminated after a large alien attack. Luckily the Chosen Ones were there to save the day, once again. I'd just like to take this moment to remember all those who lost their lives during this scary and dangerous attack."
A young, blonde haired Australian boy named Pax Lander walked out of his room to prepare for the day. He was about to enter the kitchen when he saw the news on. He stopped and walked over to the television to watch. He was surprised by the footage of the attacks in Vietnam and continued to watch. In McDonalds at Norfolk Island in Australia, Pax had walked over to the counter with application papers in his hands.
The cashier said, "How may I help you sir?"
Pax said, "I grabbed these sheets of paper last week for a job interview."
The cashier put his hand out and Paul grabbed them.
The cashier said, "Jim, can you take over the cashier. We're about to have a new employee. Follow me."
Pax stepped behind the cashier and followed the worker through the kitchen of the restaurant. It was over heated.
Pax said, "You guys must work a lot."
The worker said, "We have to. Unless we want to shut down. McDonalds is the might highly populated food joint in the world. We gotta make it look nice. Or quit."
Pax realized he had a lot of work to do. The worker stopped at a door. He knocked on it. On the doors, it read manager Davis Thomas.
Davis said, "What?"
The worker said, "Pax Lander is here to see you."
Davis said, "Who?"
The worker said, "A person who wants to start working here."
Davis said, "Send him in."
The worker opened the door and as Pax walked inside, he saw that the place was very dirty and unclean. Davis stood up and put his hand out to Pax. Pax grabbed his and shock his hand.
Davis said, "So nice to meet you. Have a seat."
Pax looked at the chair and saw grease stains on it.
He said, "No thank you. I was actually wondering if I could stand."
Davis said, "I don't see why not."
Davis sat down.
He said, "So, tell me Mr. Lander, why us? Why now?"
Pax said, "Honestly sir, I'm a kid who's very smart and has a bright future ahead. But I don't have any money and I need to start saving up for college."
Davis said, "Working here isn't going to get you anything."
Pax said, "I know. But it's a start."
Davis said, "What do you think about these alien events lately."
Pax said, "Honestly sir, they're none of my concern. I don't pay attention to them. As far as I know, we haven't even been targeted yet."
Davis leaned in and said, "You should be concerned. Aliens are growing faster than what it used to be like. They're growing bolder. And if we don't watch our backs. They'll soon take over us, like they did last summer."
Pax felt a chill go down his back.
Davis said, "You're going to start tomorrow. You'll be given the evening shift. From three to six every day until you can show me that you're the right person for this job. You'll be giving the food to those out in drive through. Understand?"
Pax nodded.
Davis said, "Don't let me down Lander. I see greatness in you."Pax walked outside of the manager's office when he saw a young blonde girl fixing the food. He didn't see her face but he saw her body and was quickly attracted to her. When the girl turned around he saw that she had a very beautiful face. The girl smiled at him. Pax realized he was gazing at her and stopped. He walked away trying to escape the embarrassment.
The girl stepped in front of him and said, "So, you're the new guy?"
Pax said, "Yeah, yeah I am."
The girl stuck her hand put and said, "Sky Thompson."
Pax grabbed it and said, "Pax Lander. Why do you work here?"
Sky said, "No future. So I just go from job to job. I don't really qualify for anything."
Pax said, "Everyone was made for something."
Sky said, "Not me. Hey, I'm about to go on break. Would you like to hang out?"
Pax said, "I'd love to."The mayor of Norfolk Island, Gelar Lane was walking to meet the Prime Minister. One bureaucrat ran over to Gelar.
He said, "Hello sir."
Gelar said, "What do you want Perry?"
Perry said, "Sorry for disturbing you but I'm guessing you're here to meet the Prime Minister." Gelar said, "You guessed right."
Perry said, "But what he's busy."
Gelar said, "I've scheduled a meeting."
Perry said, "A meeting? But why wasn't I informed."
Gelar said, "You're just not that close to the Minister as I am."
Perry said, "Bullshit. We're very close. He gives me all the details on things that are happening in Australia and the world."
Gelar said, "Really? What about the attacks of those aliens in Vietnam?"
Perry said, "He told me the very second he found out."
Gelar said, "I knew you'd say that."
Perry said, "What do you mean?"
Gelar said, "I told you the very second the Minister told me."
Perry said, "Screw this. Why does the Minister want to see you?"
Gelar said, "It's about my new city plan."
Perry said, "City plan?"
Gelar said, "Don't worry about it."
Perry said, "Like hell."
Gelar and Perry walked in front of the elevator door. He pressed the button and the doors opened.
Gelar said, "You what Perry. Bureaucracy is not your thing. Maybe you should go into another field."
Gelar walked into the elevator.
Perry said, "Like what?"
Gelar said, "Landscaping."
The doors closed as Perry made a surprising face expression.
