︎the part where they met isn't really important but i'll put it in anyway.

the two met about two years ago, they were 17. renjun was that quiet student who was always 'the good example' in everyones eyes, while jaemin was that student who everyone knows and everyone wished they didn't.

it started when jaemin accidentally elbowed renjun in the halls. weird, i know. he was stretching and renjun was too short for his elbow to notice, jaemin didn't know what his name was so he looked at his bag. a tiger keychain. 'i'm sorry, aeong.' he blurted out of the blue. kitty or 'dude' would have been too weird for a pretty boy like renjun so from that day on he was 'aeong'.

one day renjun was full on pissed for some reason, ending up in him elbowing jaemin harder than when the taller did it to him.

jaemin only found it adorable. renjuns grumpy face made him look like a little kitten. 'meow meow' was the next nickname.

meow meow seemed annoying for renjun too because he'd only get side-eyed whenever he called him that.

the next nickname comes in during their field trip. jaemins hotel room was just in front of renjuns so he promised he'd be the one to get his food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

he kept on being greeted by renjun wrapped up in a blanket whenever he opened the door to give the food, he just had to call him baby.

baby not as in baby baby. baby because he was so squishy and so adorable and fluffy and cute and soft.

are they dating? no. baby was a nickname jaemin loved using on renjun, at first it was aeong, then meow meow, but renjun got mad at him for those nicknames so now its 'baby'.

'baby' not because renjun was childish, he isn't actually, but because jaemin thinks hes squishy.

renjun on the other hand, gives absolutely zero fucks about the nickname. hes used to it now, hes fine with any nickname except for names that are related to cats...or just animals in general.

"aren't you, like, suffocating him?" chenle questions. loudly shutting his locker.

"why would i suffocate the baby?" jaemin furrowed his eyebrows.

"well the 'baby' is tapping your arm, i hope you noticed." jisung sighed.

jaemin panicked and pulled away, smiling apologetically at renjun who let out a sigh in frustration.

"jaemin i love the affection but other than that i also love my life at the moment so i'd also love it if you showed affection without trying to fucking kill me." renjun said.
