Poem: Edited, and still thinking of title

I have a barrier between us.

Snares of barbed wire entangling the fences,
The only way in is to climb up, up, up, and risk falling down, down, down.

Oh love, how you fell

Through a rain of bullets, rose thorns, and broken glass.

I can see you through the cracks.

My fortress was crafted in the fire of my anguish,
to withstand the wickedness of the world.
Ensuring my safety,
Where no one can reach me—

And yet there you are.
Walking slowly, carefully towards it.

Every step you take you make green grass grow beneath your feet.

It grows upon my salted soil; my blood stained land.

How beautiful you are:
Roses and lily's sprouting at your feet as you run
to the fortress
Burst through the doors

You saved me.
