Dalilah's moose-drawn carriage rolled into the courtyard and parked in a space in front of the building. William ran down the stairs and met her at the front door of Renaissance Palace. She was accompanied by her younger brother Arthur, her maid Emilina, and her royal advisor/uncle Lukan.
"Good day" William stated.
"Fantastic day" Deliliah conquered "show me to my quarters, I have a lot to get ready before you coronation tomorrow." Delilah curled her arm waiting for him to lock his arm with hers. With a few seconds of contemplation, William complied and began to lead her to the fifth floor where she'd be staying.
"Fetch my bags Emilina" Delilah yelled while entering the glass doors of the palace.
After a long walk up the stairs, and a painstakingly long conversation with a royal pain, William left Delila at the door of her suite, and ran to the seventh floor before she could ask him to do something else.
William knocked on the door of the tailors room where his aid had already been waiting for him. "Come in" the tailor said.
The tailor is an old, short man with a bald spot on the top of his head. As many lower class commoners, he was appointed the position at a young age. They're typically given their future job at 6-7 and begin working with someone in that position at 8.
William opened the door and was taken back by hundreds of clothing pieces strung on racks at random, and the nearly 20 maids folding them.
"Here" the tailor said while pointing at the podium in front of him. William scooted over and stepped onto the 3 inch tall podium.
The tailor began wrapping a measure tape around him. "28" the tailor said. Immediately three racks were pushed out the door. The tailor measured his shoulder "15.7" he yelled. The tailor continued getting his measurements until they finally find the right suit.
A black jacket with red lapels, a black vest, and a white button up shirt.
"Run along now" the tailor commanded "it's almost sunset and you still have a party to get to."
"Thank you" William stated as he ran out the door to get to the part he forgot about. He made his way to the ballroom on the first floor.
"William" his twelve-year-old sister Amelia yelled after him "wait up."
"I'm gonna be late" William exclaimed as his sister lifted up her gown and waddled after him. "It's your party" Amelia argued.
They made their way down the stairwell as Amelia struggled to stay upright tripping over her dress. With a deep breath, William pushed open the doors into the ballroom. The guests clapped and cheered as William walked through the doors.
And then he saw her. Lilliana, heir apparent to the Western throne. William made his way over to her, but just as he was about to reach her Delilah grabbed his arm.
"You must be William" a girl with Delilah stated "I'm Alayna."
It took him a second, but William finally realized who this was. Alayna of the House of Clark. Daughter of Jason, second in line to the Cuban throne.
The House of Clark is a force to be reckoned with. They have a history of taking thrones from people by tricking then into giving them up. Julian Clark was king from 2273 to 2276 and in that small amount of time he took over Panama by winning a poker game.
William shook Alayna's hand. He flinched as she bowed to him. "It was nice to meet you" he stated as he walked away.
As the party ended William made his way up to his room. Out of the darkness he heard a click noise like that of a camera. Cameras are very rare as most were destroyed in riots after the computer virus destroyed the digital ones. He heard the printing of film followed by loud footsteps running in the opposite direction.
William convinced himself it was just someone playing tricks on him, and he continued to hid room .
The next morning, with a very needed rest, William arose from his bed and began putting on his suit when he heard a knock on the door. William walked over to the door and peaked through the peephole, but he didn't see anything. He reluctantly opened the door, and still, he saw nothing. William looked down at the ground and found a picture of him lying on the floor. He picked it up and walked back into his room to set it someone for later question, but in the mirror by his door he saw red writing in the back of the photograph. William turned it around and written on the back it said "It could've been that easy. The click and you'd be dead."
Frightened William called his maid. "Don't worry" she said in her heavy Canadian accent "it's just someone playing tricks on you. They want you to get nervous at your coronation." She helped him put on his suit snf left the room. He wasn't long after.
William couldn't get the photograph out of his head, but he had bigger things to worry about.
He had just a few minutes to make his way down to the first floor for his coronation.
He made his way down the stairs and hid in the maids closet as people gathered in the coronation hall. "Come on William" a maid said outside the door "everyone's seated."
William opened the door and made his way toward the coronation hall. Shaking he stood in front of the door and waited for the guards to open it. As the doors opened, William walked slowly I to the room. Step by step he made his way down the aisle as every important person in the Nothern Hemisphere was looking directly at him.
He got onto the stage and stood beside his mom awaiting to be crowned
But when he got up there he realized that something wasn't right. The Queen Dowager fell to the floor. After closer inspection they realized she had a poison dart in her neck, intended for William, King of the Southern Kingdom.
