The leaves of the folder Aurora had dropped, fluttered to a stop onto the ground, as an ominous silence filled the room.

Neon surveyed his HQ, then her, a dark look on his face. Aurora just stood there frozen, trying to summon up the irritation she had filed away to use when, - not if - she were caught. But she couldn't. Rather, she felt like throwing up.

And then he was marching forward.

She darted away frantically, searching for someplace to hide.

Nowhere. But maybe if I scream-?

"The walls are soundproof. You can yell all you want." Neon spoke coldly.

Nearly tripping over her feet she ran for the door, only to find it closed and locked. She jumped to feel a firm grip on her shoulder and she wrenched away, - or tried to.

"I'll c-call my father!" She threatened as she pressed the front of her person against the door, refusing to look into his face; though come to think of it...her trembling voice didn't sound all that threatening -

"And what would you say?" He challenged, his cold voice filling her ear.

She opened her mouth, - then closed it. What could she say?

Papa, please come home all the way from Astral, I was caught snooping in a restricted area and now my guard's about to give me a punishment you sanctioned?

"And why should I listen to you if you don't listen to me?"

"But I did!" Aurora continued to struggle. "For ten whole years! I was just -" She stopped abruptly, not willing to explain herself, worse, - the help of her irritation was slipping away again.

"There's no excuse for what you did other than you decided to break the rules."

"But I didn't understand why I wasn't allowed in here and - "

"That is not your place to know!"

Surprised, Aurora looked over her shoulder to see...fire flashing in his eyes, so out of character for him. He almost looked...could it be? Angry?

She couldn't help but be intrigued. But her own anger quickly overpowered her intrigue, as Neon pulled her wrists behind her back and fastened them with something.

Unlocking the door, he began to lead her out.

Looking up, her face heated to see the basement room filled with SIG Agents staring on at her, most with disapproval. A few of the younger ones even lost all sense of professionalism, and outwardly gawked.

They never lose their cool in a high profile, emergency situation! Yet when it comes to me they're surprised! Well if it's a show they want, it's a show they'll get!

"Argh! Let go of me you brute! Let me go!" She kicked her feet and wiggled.

A few of the SI Agents chuckled.

Wha-! No! Not the effect I wanted!

She gave out a more powerful kick at Neon's shins and then dropped, forcing her to carry her dead weight. "I said, let me - "
