After going to the arcade with Venti, he hasn't left me alone since then! He's friends with almost everyone at school! Why does he need to hang out with me? Sure, spending time with him has been the highlight of my life. I've never had anyone hang out with me before if they weren't getting paid by their parents to go "make friends".
I come from a very rich line of family. I wasn't born into them, I was adopted by a professor here, Mr. Zhongli. My sister and I were in an adoption center for years so that also didn't help with the issue of wanting friends. A few years later after he adopted us, this ginger guy who can't use chopsticks got married to Mr. Zhongli. That's why we have so much money.
"Xiaooooooo! Are ya in there?" Venti yells from outside my door. "What do you want?" I ask coldly. "Wanna go to karaoke with me? I'm inviting a friend, Kazuha! It'll be so fun, he's bringing someone too!! You should come!!" He yells in excitement. "No." I respond without thinking. "Pleaseeeeee~ oh come on! I already told Kazuha you're coming!!" He whines. "Why would you tell him that?" I ask. "I thought you'd come." He mumbles sadly. "Alright, fine, I'll come." I give in. He squeals in delight and tells me where to meet and what to wear.
Many hours later it's time to go to the karaoke place. I ride my bike over to the city and make my way towards the tallest building in the entire area! The big and bold, YunJin Karaoke Emporium! Surprisingly, people love karaoke so much they made the karaoke building the tallest building in the city.
I park my bike at the stall and enter the building. The receptionist asks me for my name and party (party as in the group I join, which is under Venti's name.) and I go to the elevator to get to room number 420. I stroll down the neon hallways and I can hear music coming from each room.
Room 410 is singing 'Call Me Maybe', room 418 is singing some K-Pop song I don't know, and room 419 sings 'Back In Black', a good song, actually. I reach room 420 and enter it with the pink key they have and find Venti, Kazuha, and...Scaramouche. "Hey Xiao! This is Scaramouche, a friend of Kazuha's!" Venti yells even though we're in a small room.
"I'm Xiao. Nice to meet you." I say, even though I know him, kinda. "I'm Scaramouche. We sit next to each other in English, don't we?" He introduces. I nod my head and Venti turns to the remote to pick a song for us. He picks out some random cutesy song that he likes and we get to singing.
(This is what I imagine them singing. You don't have to use this, you can imagine your own! Just thought this was a cute song that Venti would pick and I was inspired by it for this chapter.)
We all have surprisingly good voices. Venti's voice is high and smooth, Kazuha's voice is calm and relaxing, Scaramouche has an energetic and gravelly voice, and I have a smooth and deeper voice.
"Xiao! Sing this song!! Venti yells. Boy, how does he have so much energy still? "Alright, alright." I say calmly and walk up to the microphone. The song is Only About Love by Grentperez. I know this song. The girls at school are all about it and hope that their romances happen like this song...or something.

"You have such a smooth voice, Xiao. I wish mine was deeper like yours." Kazuha comments. "Oh, thanks." I reply back. We keep on singing until midnight.
Kazuha and Scaramouche are sleeping on each other. Scaramouche's head lays on Kazuha's shoulder and Kazuha's head lays on Scaramouche's head. Venti looks a bit tired too and I decide it's time to go. "Venti, I think we should wrap it up now." I say, motioning to the two sleeping boys on the seats. "Yeah, you're probably," he yawns "right."
Venti shakes Kazuha awake which wakes up the purple haired boy sleeping on him. "Come on guys, we have to go now." He says in a whisper-like tone. The two grumble and get up, waiting for Venti to unlock the door. He struggles a bit trying to get it open.
"Here I'll help." I offer and our hands briefly touch a second before the door opens. He smiles softly at me as a thanks and the four of us exit the room and go down the elevator. We exit the building slowly and Kazuha takes Scaramouche with him in the opposite direction. I walk with Venti down to the bike lot and we mount our bikes.
"That was fun today Xiao. Thank you for coming." He says sweetly. "Yeah." I mumble. For some reason, his soothing voice makes me feel at home. It makes me feel like nothing could ever go wrong. I could listen to it all day.
