The whole country shocked and terrified for what happened. A man in his late 20s—early 30s, left to die on the shore with his weak and pale bleeding body leant to old wooden pier.

Detective and police who in charged that night startled with how he survived and still had a strong pulse after how much blood he lost. Even the docter called him a walking miracle when three days after surgery he could walk like a normal person.

When he was found, there were two 28 centimeters open wound where he spilled most of his blood, he broke 4 of his ribs, his left kneecap was cracked, and his head was injured so bad. That's why doctor and his team call him a walking miracle. Because he was really a walking miracle.

Right after the third day, all the doctor along with the detectives and the police had to do the press conference to convey the real reason what happened to the guy.

"He still can't remember anything, sir."

The doctor and his team trying to convice all the authorities that the guy is fully concious, but couldn't remember about anything.

"Good morning, sir!"
Said by Horatio, the head detective who was in charged to his case.

"Yes, good morning, detective. What can i help?"

"Do you, by any chance, remember anything? Who did this to you? Where do you live? Are you from this city? Or—what's your name?"

He shook his head.

Still can't remember anything even though he tries.

"Just named him." Said by the doctor.
"Tell the press that he got amnesia and will get better in weeks—or maybe months. And tell people that we still looking for who did this to him and if he involved in some mafia shit or anything worse." Horatio's partner agreed with the doctor. And maybe that was for the best to keep people at least relieves after three days of waiting for the answer.

"Kai—"
"Sorry?" Horatio confused with what the doctor said.

"Kai means the sea. We can call him Kai since we found him on the shore, near the sea."

"Cornelius, and we can call him Kai." added by the doctor whilst pointing on the goodwill t-shirt he was wearing who has the word Cornelius written on it.

"Okay, then. Told the PR that we are gonna have a press con at 3PM." Horatio said.

(6 months later)

He still can't remember anything. He already discharged and for the first month living under the Social Rehabilitation Institution. Was preparing him the new ID since the government also can't find who is he. It was 2010 after all, there was no thing such a futuristic DNA test or face recognition at this timeline.
Cornelius. Without a last name. Just Cornelius. And the social workers call him Kai. Just like Dr. Maximilian gave him. Kai, means the sea.
