We've been trying to find this key for five minutes straight without stopping. Almost anyway; everyone except Doris.

She's leant up against the wall, sat on top of the sleeping bag. Her heavy breathing sounds concerning. Like she's dehydrated. But she just keeps saying that she's tired. It sounds like it's her last breath every time you hear her breathe, like it's getting heavier and heavier. I have to keep looking at her to be sure she doesn't pass out or something.

Stan and Clover left the secret room to look around the library for this key. So I was stuck with an exhausted Doris. God I wish my brother was here right now. I shed a tear when I remember him. I miss him so much.

I keep the rest of my tears to myself as I continue to search for this key. I've checked everywhere in here. Where is it?

I even inside and under the sleeping bag; nothing.

I even touched the rotting, possibly rotten, corpse; nothing.

But one thing I've come to consider; if you don't keep an eye on the one behind the crowd, they'll be at least injured. If you then leave that injured survivor - or possibly any survivor - alone, they're likely to go... I'm sorry, Cole.

I spoke about it with Doris and my idea with how these 'monsters' work. It seemed to make sense to her as she apologised for making me separate from Cole. I smiled a little from her apology.

As Doris looks up the wall to her right, she sees something shiny between a small hole in the wall. She points at it, struggling with her words.

I look up at where she's pointing and see the shine coming from the hole in the wall. I had to punch through the wall to get the key.

Of course the wall is made of wood.

Some broken shards of wood get stuck in my knuckle, stabbed fairly deep. But that didn't matter.

What mattered is how I'm so strong to break through wood?!

I grab the key with my other hand and show it to Doris.

Doris' face glows before then trying leave the room to get the other two. I grabbed hold of her wrist with my injured hand and told her to wait for me. She nodded in response.

So we went together, trying to find Stan and Clover.

When we left the secret room, we saw books everywhere. They were really trying to find this key. We walked further into the library to try and find them.

We turned the third corner on our right to find them both panicking over this key, Clover panicking more as Stan barely shows any emotion when he's hungover... from what it seems anyway.

Doris caught their attention by waving her arms around in the air like she's a six year old.

They look over and I show them the key. Tired Clover and Stan walk over in relief that it was finally found.

As they get to us we all think of the next plan, though it's impossible to do that when no one knows what'll happen next.

Before we knew it, a monster appeared behind Clover and Stan.

It makes me think of a three headed giraffe with a neck of tree branches almost separating off from each other. Scrap that; a three headed zombie giraffe which its neck looks like tangled tree branches before separating to three individual heads. But the creature looks partially human... or something seeing as the heads are pretty much human, just zombified. The creature also had a singular sharp claw for each of its two arms. The four legs looked so skinny and rotted away, how was it holding this monster's upper weight? There are no pupils, not a single iris, in any of the faces' eyes. This thing is not supposed to exist, it has to have been created! Wait, was Cole killed by this thing?

I grabbed Stan's hand and Doris grabbed Clover's as we dragged them to the secret room. The creature had already dug a claw in Stan's free arm, the same thing that happened to Cole.

We were able to escape the creature with a lot of close calls. Which include tripping a lot, slowing down, screaming and the creature nibbling on our hair to pull us closer to it.

We came to closing the secret room door when it got a claw in, stopping it from closing. So we all put our strength together to close the door.

The door closed on its own before but if we let that happen, we may have been killed. Too close.

It ended up cutting the entire claw off the creature, leaving it to screech in pain and run around frantically. Soon, the creature's screeching started to fade and die down. The screech itself left my ears bleeding.

Stan had a heart attack after the screeching faded so we had to quickly help him. It took ten minutes but eventually he was okay. We all sighed in relief; we couldn't lose someone else that quickly.

We ended up resting for a few minutes; talking and laughing with each other, completely forgetting what situation we're actually in!

But we did find out Stan is 60 years old. Stan won't tell us much about himself otherwise. The only other thing he told us was his diagnosis of heart attacks he was given three years ago. Poor guy.

Soon enough we unlocked the tiny door and crawled through it, Stan being first to crawl through it.

It was covered in cobwebs and it felt unstable when crawling over the surface.

Eventually it lead us to a completely different room, a bigger room than the library. Damn, I didn't think that was possible.

We all crawled into the room when I found a note on the floor. Oh no.

"Guys..." I grabbed everyone's attention.

Clover was helping Stan to his feet as he was struggling to use his injured arm. Luckily the cut wasn't as severe as Cole's and he's not losing too much blood. He said he's fine otherwise.

I cleared my throat before unfolding the paper and reading it out.

"Survivors; it seems you finally met my experiment. I call it E1269 - the shortened name - or 'Jack the Killer on steroids' - the longer name."

I mean, I can see it.

"E1269 is the one that killed Cole. I ended up getting Cole's DNA and you may get a lovely surprise later on, Anna."

Oh no... what does that mean?!

"I would like to congratulate you all for escaping that difficult situation, even if it's a survivor killed and another injured. This next room requires communication as you work to free a prisoner that's been stuck here for a year. Good luck. X"

Who's X though?

"Prisoner?" Clover questioned.

"That's what it says on here." I answered.

I wonder who it is.

"So maybe we should look around first, get an idea of our temporary surroundings before thinking ahead."

Stan was right.

We all nod in response.

Stan, once again, leads the way. This old man is so brave, considering his injury. I wonder if he's a retired soldier or something.
