Chapter 2- Frost

I clicked the watch button and immediately the portal opened, “alright boss were back and here’s the SD card for the pictures”

“thank you, did you set up the camera “

“yes, I think”

“you think”

“yeah, a lot was going on”

“Do you know how much I’m paying you”

“yes I do”

“Then don’t fuck up”

“don’t worry I set up the cameras”

“Then why didn’t you say that”

“I was giving one of your employees the SD card and helping them set it up”

“next time don’t, wait till I approve it” he was being a ass about it but we our getting paid a big chunk of money to do this with no fuck ups so I understand where he’s coming from.
“Alright frost, your going to need these swimming gear and this warmer, the water will be frozen on top but liquid at the bottom make sure to keep the hole from freezing back up, you can go find the small portion of land where light is plentiful.”

“Understood”

“alright let’s get to it”, we walked into the Portal room and put on our gear, “when your ready just walk in”, I was the first one in, the cold air immediately hitting me right away not that much life on this side since the heat is not really hitting this side of the planet, then I notice the small bugs on the frozen ground, “I wonder what do they feed on”

“or drink”

“what you mean” 

“maybe their blood suckers”

“interesting thought but that still questions what do they feed on”, we turned away from the bugs and focus on breaking the ice, we grabbed our tool and started cutting into the thick ice sheets taking about a hour or so using the cutter and the heater at the same time, we broke a big enough hole for one of us to jump in and see what’s underneath the surface.

We agreed that the zoologist go since she knows more then any of us, she took her dry clothes off with her suit being right underneath them, she placed her heater/warmer in her suit and dropped right in the cold freezing water, we also dropped a camera In right behind her for we can all see what’s underneath.

Liz p.o.v
It was dark as hell, so I turned my flashlight on and started to see worms the size of pythons eating the bugs that was on the top of the ocean ice then out of nowhere these Jetstream fish came swimming fast right pass me, they were the size of a couch and had four long sharp tentacles with bright colors going down their spines. I took a few pictures on one of my cameras then dropped the other camera letting it sink to the bottom of the ocean to capture more. I swam up and sat next to the warmer and sent the pictures to our boss.

She sat near the heater for a while then we seen these large flying things coming our way from the east, “take pictures”, we waited and watched as these flock of birds landed on the ice with long legs covered in tiny hairs, head shaped like a flute screwdriver with fur around its head with wings longer then its body. We watched as they cut the ice with their sharp foot nail similar to a ostrich foot to catch the jetstreamers, I took pictures and tried to get closer but was scared back by a big male bird which had four feathers on its head that were red, blue, black and white. We watched as they feast and we waited till they left but never did, they started making moaning and groaning nose and that lead to them mating “guess their going to be here for a while”, “so should we wait until they lay eggs and hatch”

“yeah but signal boss to send the capsule”

“alright signaling now”

“you guys ready?”

“yeah”, the portal opened and he sent in 5 capsule and while we grabbed them through , the others set up tents cause we knew that we were going to be here all day and probably even all night. Everyone else went to sleep but I stayed up looking at a picture of me and my kids of how I would finally get to see them after 3 years, yes that’s how long it’s been just because I didn’t have a good job, good transportation or a good place to stay. I fell asleep with my thoughts till I was awaken by Liz, “what”,
“come look”, I walked over to Liz where she was on the camcorder computer screen, we seen that the fish were at the bottom of the sea floor mating just like normal fish but these fish used their spikes to stab into the females to pin her down and wouldn’t let go till he is finish. “I think we should drop them”

“Yeah I agree”, we clicked the button and dropped the heavy capsule into the ocean one by one and watched them hatch with the camcorder, it was a large animal almost the size of a crocodile but bigger with a head like a duck connected with a neck like a giraffe with whiskers and teeth like a Komodo dragon, giant wing like front limbs with smaller back limbs, it had a long catfish tail with a long narrow sharp tongue. They didn’t start hunting though. They waited and waited, the birds flew away but left their full nest, the worms buried themselves under the sea floor and then fish swamed in the same direction the birds flew “should we follow them”

“ok let’s put the other two on the Sunnyside”, we signaled boss to open the portal, we ran in and dropped off our swimming gear and the heaters and gave bossman the SD card for the pictures then relocating the portal to the sunnyside and going in.

We ran in and the star that was beaming down was doing its Job, it felt like it was 90 degree but it was really just 70, we got down and seen the same bugs but bigger and fatter almost the same size as a beetle, we seen the birds arriving and we watched as they cleaned themselves and were eating the small mammals that were running around everyone they were the size of a book with  short tails like a bobcat, the small mammals ate the bugs and the birds ate the mammals.

We watched as they feast on the mammals then the large duckbill crocodiles came up out of the water and started basking, we watched for about 3 hours till they started haunting, they camouflage with the ground and got up close and strike with that long sharp narrow tongue right into the body of the bird, feathers tearing off the birds body as it struggle to release it self, the bird let out a large scream until they were dragged underneath, we dropped the two camcorder into the water and took pictures of the haunting techniques then went back home.
“pictures”, we gave him the card and then we all sat down, “congratulations” he screamed dancing around jumping back and forth, “here’s your checks”, he gave us all as we all went separate ways, “see you all tomorrow”.

I stopped by the bank and ask them to deposit my check into my account, I knew the lady was judging me from what I was wearing and how much money she saw on the check, “alright can I have your first and last name and the 4 last digits of your card”, “randy price and 4756”

“thank you”

“would you like this to be instantly in your account, that would be 4.50 if u do so”

“yes please”

“alright your money is in your account”

“thank you”

“have a nice day”, I went back and sat in my car looking / searching for a new place and I think I found a great place better then my apartment, the house had 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms with 2,868  square feet with a gate but I seen my choice it was a 915,000 dollar house with 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms with 4,828, I requested a time but she said today would be fine so I drove about 2 to 3 miles out praying my car wouldn’t give out on me and it was more beautiful in person “hello Mr. Prize welcome”

“let’s show you around” , we spend a good 35 minutes looking over the house and talking “I would like to pay right now if you don’t mind”

“card”, your price is 915,000 but monthly will be just 3,914”, “I understand”

“and can you sign here” I read the fine print and signed everywhere she told me to sign and she gave me the keys”

I bought the house fully furnished since it wasn’t that bad and all my furniture was old and dirty, I loved it I would just have to buy a bed, three to be exact, bathroom supplies, kitchen supplies, a grill and 5 television since I’m tired of my old one. I went back to my apartment and started packing until my boss called me, “yes”
“I need you back at the lab your next mission”

“You don’t want to wait till tomorrow”

“why would I want to wait”

“Cause I just bought this new house and was packing”

“your packing is more important then my life changing mission”

“No sir didn’t mean it like that”

“Your right, Tomorrow, 6 am be ready or get fired”

“got you boss”. I hang up my shitty phone and called wemoveyou and set up the date for today of course since I didn’t know how busy I would be tomorrow then I proceed to order a new phone then I finish throwing things away, putting things in boxes and labeling. I put the ten boxes in my car front sit, backseat and trunk, I didn’t have that much stuff so I didn’t have much to pack, I drove back to the house put in the gate pin and just gazed in the beauty and glory of my new house. I pulled in and grabbed the key out of my pocket and opened the door to the most beautiful interior of the house which was now mine.

The sun was going down and I just sat on my couch going through Amazon, ordering everything my new house needed spending about two thousands dollars combing both bathroom, bedrooms, kids playroom, kitchen, living room, dining room and outside porch front and back, I put my phone on the old rusty charger that I had for five years which I had to wrap the card around my phone to charge then slowly put it down to charge then fell asleep feeling great about my life now.
