Chapter 5

Working up with the bright sun in my face I looked at my phone to see my boss called four times then texted saying he needs us to come in, “I can’t”, I texted back then he hit me with the come in or get fried so I had no other choice I got dressed telling my family to come around 5pm so we could still hang out and cook together since it’s been a long time, I sent the address out and headed to the lab where everyone  was waiting for me, “took long enough”, my boss said, “this is an important mission,  be ready for anything, we suspected on this new planet called Andros meaning water planet that its ran with creatures “
“this Andros what’s the temperature and perceptions”

“-20 daylight and over 100 degrees night”

“do you know how many species on this planet”

“almost 20 species so we don’t need to bring capsule today but I need pictures”

“How many more capsules do you have”

“I have about 40 more capsules but it’s one more mission after this then I’ll call yall back in 4 months”

“Do we still get paid those 4 months”, I had many questions and I was going to get them all out, “yes you’ll get enough to feed yourself and pay your house bills anything else is out of my hands, now go get ready”, we ran to the back and changed grabbing our supplies before heading back with the portal ready with water dripping out. “alright have fun”, we entered the portal to the water planet known as Andros, we swam around with our lights on not seeing anything besides small fish and large plants growing taller and taller tryna reach the sunlight, we swam deeper into the ocean moving away from the plant forest to open sea, we continue till a large serpent almost the size of an horse with two horns curve forward with a whale like tail and two large fangs sticking out its mouth, “is it a carnivore?”

“probably but only eating animals larger then it self”, we continue swimming up to the surface and didn’t see nothing for miles, we dived back down swimming towards a group of Ray like creature with tentacles all over its body, “is there no land here”

“Nope all oceans”, I took pictures of everything around me seeing large whales bigger then the ones on earth having 4 eyes on each side and six fins with three long tentacles listening for vibration, we came upon a luminescent cave glowing in the with luminescent frogs and large lizards with a flower at the end of their tails one of the most beautiful sites I’ve seen today.

We swam deeper into the cave to a opening landmass underneath the oceans but above the water with birds the size of penguin with some having colorful feathers and others with dull feathers, we climbed up and was scared back in the water by the males with large air packets used for mating session. We took a picture before calling our boss to head home, he replied opening up the portal scaring the birds back as we entered leaving the water planet behind.

“how was it”

“more interesting then the last planet”

“pictures?”, he said reaching out for the camera as my team member handed it to him,

“you all can go now, see you tomorrow”

we all go undressed from our swimming suits and I went home to start cooking for the party I was throwing, it was only 12:00 but some of my folks wanted to take a tour of the house so I told them to come early this was going to be the first time they see me doing great in my life.

“hey were outside, your brothers behind us”, I pressed the button on the side of the door while standing in the door way waiting for them to pull in to press the button again. My mother ran out the car and gave me hug then ran into the house, I know it’s fake of them to show up when my money is doing good but I honestly miss them but let’s see how this goes.

We all walked into the house sitting in the living room, “this house is amazing”

“Thank you”

“your sister will be here with the kids”

“Great cant wait to finally meet them”

“Now lets talk about this money coming to you all of a certain”, here we go

“were you going to tell us about this”

“I did, I invited you all over”

“Were you sharing”

“why would I share yall didn’t help me”, they got quiet before heading to the backyard while I stated inside thinking till my brother came back and sat with me, “ignore them, its your money, fuck them”

“this what I get for being nice”

“Its your personality, don’t blame yourself blame them”, I took in what he was telling me till his phone rang and he stepped away from me as his sister called me to open  gate three

“Hello” , my family said to my sister walking In with her kids as they ran to the back not even saying hey to me, I sat on the couch while they all was in the backyard doing whatever as I heard my family screaming so I ran to the door seeing it was just them being happy to see my ex wife and kids. They let them in as I went back to sit down waiting for the timer to go off on the food that was being prepared in the kitchen, I knew they wasn’t going to bring any food so I had to make enough for everyone plus more incase they invited more people.
The timer went off and I went to go turn the food off and take everything put the oven and the grill, “what you making little brother”,

“Burgers, fries, shrimp, hot dogs, Mac n cheese, lobster tail, basically everything”

“I see, I’m ready for it”

“Dig in”, and as I said that he called my family in as they rushed to the plates and started making three plates each with people that I didn’t even know came in, I went back to sit on the couch and got a text from my boss, “come in early tomorrow around 5, big mission for you”, I got distracted cause my son came and ran in my arms for a hug even though he was thirteen he was still a daddy boy, he left out My arms and ran to make him a plate, “fruit salad in the refrigerator”, but I knew they didn’t want none the only ones who ate fruit was my wife and my two kids.

They ate, played games, fought, argued, got high, got drunk then left without saying bye to the person the house belonged too and not even staying to help clean up the mess, the only person who stayed was my second older brother but he was to drunk to even clean so he crushed on the couch with the garage bag in his hands, I guess it’s the thought that count. I finished cleaning before locking the back door and front door then turning off the lights then heading to my bedroom to call it a night, I plugged my phone in, took my clothes off and set my alarm for 4:00, to get up and get ready this was a long day that I don’t wanna do again.

My alarm started to go off and it was to early for me, I hit my phone but it still took me a while to get up. I scrolled through my phone seeing my boss text saying “get the hell up”, don’t know why he was up but that was my cue to get up and go shower before I get fired. I showered and got dress, grabbing my stuff  running out the door to rush to his house.

I made it before the clock hit 5:00 and ran in behind Tony and Liz seeing all three of us running almost late gave me relief. We ran into the meeting conference room and sat down before he entered, “all new mission new species”,

“What planet”

“Meet adoria” , he pulled up a picture on the big screen, “bigger then Jupiter and Saturn combined with water surrounding a plot of landmass the size of Africa”

“the creatures there”

“well, we discovered about more species then we can count when we sent a drone in, ot took pictures of a four long hind dog with the mouth made of bone , herd of four-legged herbivores with the face of a elephant with no tusk and a body like a horse and a pod of large salamander like creatures with the truck of an elephant catching smaller fish and vultures the size of ostriches be careful now and stay alert, it’s even man eating plants on this planet”

“gotca boss”

“now go get dress, meet at the portal room”, we got dressed as we discussed when are we going to stop all this traveling back and forth, the money is great but what does the government say about this. We walked back to the portal room and was told what was going on in today’s mission, “you’ll be releasing just one species of animal, it’s one of my best creatures and its called amuordon it’s a large four legged two toed deer like creatures with four large spikes on his thigh with two antlers that can grow to maximum portions with the males have a sail going up its neck with beautiful colors that attracts female.”, he opened the portal and we ran in with no hesitation and was ready to get it over with.

“just wait till you see the next planet, all hell will break lose”.
