The sound of the alarm clock beeping woke me out of my slumber. Feeling the presence of another beside me, I jolted up and looked around, relieved to see it was only my sister. She looked at me, obviously noticing my fright ."You okay Doll?" she asked me
" Yeah Im fine"
She put her hair up into a ponytail and looked into the tiny powder mirror she always carried around. Satisfied, she slipped the mirror into her bag and got up off the bed. She looked around at me and smiled. I followed her to the door and quickly locked up as soon as she left. I turned around to go back to the bedroom when suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my stomach. I ran to the bathroom and heaved , bringing up the little food that was in my stomach. I held my hand to my forehead as everything came crashing down on me.
I remembered the amber eyes, the pain and the darkness then my memory went hazy again.
I looked at myself in the mirror, taking note of how disgusting I looked. Aside from the vomit that ran down my chin and stained my shirt, around my eyes were black and my hair was a tangled mess. I looked oddly pale and simply put... I looked sick. I washed my face and brushed my teeth then put my shirt into in the wash. I walked back into my sisters room and crashed into her bed. I took up the beautiful picture frame off the nightable. I laughed, it was a picture of her and I when i was around 12 and she about 14 when we took a trip to the beach.
It was surprising how we managed to develop a good relationship over the years. When we were younger, we possibly had the worst sibling relationship in the world. She was the star of the family and I was simply put -trash. She was an athlete, popular and most of all extremely beautiful. Perfect hourglass shape, long silky light brown hair and bright green eyes- thanks to my mother. Me, on the other hand was the rebel, the weirdo who dressed in leather pants and black t-shirt, never combed her hair, skipped classes not to do drugs or anything of that sort but rather I sat in the school bathroom and read my heart out. Even though most of the time I wasn't present in class. I still managed to scrap good grades to show my parents. After spending most of my day sleeping and frustrating myself. I decided a walk would probably help me more than staying inside and mentally toturing myself. I got up then went through my sisters closet, looking for something to wear since all my clothes were back at the apartment. Her closet was variations of pink and PINK, pink dresses, pink tops, even bloody pink jeans. There was no way on earth would I be caught dead wearing pink After a good hour of searching, I finally came upon something that I deemed okay to wear. It was a black shirt and ripped blue jeans which I would just wear with my jacket I had brought with.
I quickly got ready and splashed some cold water into my face. I took up the silver key off the desk and walked out the apartment. I locked the door and went down the staircase leading to the outside of the building. It was cold, almost freezing and empty. There was no one around, no life whatsoever. I changed my mind and turned around to go back up to the apartment but instead, I walked into someone. And fell.
I looked up at the person and I sat there like an idiot dumbstruck. He looked oddly familar and I found myself staring at him intently, trying to figure out who the hell he was. I couldn't of had my back turned for more than 10 seconds, it was like he fricking appeared out of nowhere."Do you need a hand there Ms. Morchino" he said looking down at me. He even knew my name. I shaked my head and quicky jumped up and brushed myself off.
Standing in front of him was awkward, other than the fact he was probably a foot taller than me but that he was staring at me the entire time, like he was trying to read me. I stared back at him, still trying to figure out who he was." Thank you for helping me up" I said nervously, playing with the bracelet on my hand.
" You're welcome Ms. Morchino" he said smiling, still staring at me .
" Ill take my leave now" I said turning away and walking in the direction of the stairs. But then he said something, something that made every hair on my body stand up.
" Oh and Ms. Morchino. You must be careful. The real monsters come out at night"
By the time I turned around he was gone.
Then I found myself running, running after him. He wasn't there but I was still running wildly. I turned at every corner, looking for him. He wasn't there. I ran through alleys, every turn, every twist, every fucking zigzag. But he wasn't there. I slowed my stride and stopped to take a breath.
Then I saw something in the corner of my eye. A bright light, a bright blue light. Curiosity got the best of me and I turned towards it and quietly made my way over. It was faint at first but it got brighter and brighter as I got closer.
It was a spiral of different colors seemingly floating off the ground, other than the fact that it was bizarre, it was beautiful. Extremely beautiful. Captivating. Alluring. Somehow it reminded me of the sunset, with all those pretty colors. I found myself walking toward it, enchanted by its beauty. I walked closer and closer until my finger was touching it. It felt cold but it gave me a calm feeling . I stepped closer and closer until my entire body felt calm."DONT!' I heard a voice shout
But it was too late, I took my final step then my entire body froze. And there I was falling and falling , like a star out the night sky. I couldn't hear anything, I couldn't feel anything , I couldn't see anything. Everything was just black, black as a starless night .
