I caught a fever a few days later and was told to stay in the hospital little longer. The docters said the fever wasn't life threatening, just that my body was still trying to recover and the fever was a result of that.
I had been sick before but, this was just annoying. I sat in my hospital bed, wrapped in as many blankets as I could, and shivering. I was freezing.
Marcus walked in carrying a cup of tea. "Here. Drink this. It might help." He said, handing the cup to me.
I smiled and took it. "Thanks." I sipped the hot drink and felt the warmth go through me until it reached my toes. It was relaxing.
Marcus sat down next to me bed and stared at me. I took another sip before I asked, "Something wrong?"
He chuckled. "Nope. Just taking in the view."
I blushed and went back to drinking my tea. He was still staring at me when Cally walked in. "You know, Marcus, people at school are asking where you are."
He rolled his eyes. "Like I care. They can ask all they want, it won't make me come back. I have better things to take care of." He said the last sentence with a smile to me, taking my hand and kissing it.
I smiled and looked away. Cally giggled. "I told them you were with your boyfriend."
Me and Marcus gaped at her. Marcus was the first to speak. "What the hell, Cally?! Why would you do that?!"
She rolled her eyes. "Like they'd believe me anyways. They just laughed and told me to get a life."
I chuckled and Marcus sighed. "You are so dead when I have the time to kill you."
Cally shrugged. "Whatever you say, Marcus."
The docter walked in. He smiled at me. "Felling any better?" He asked.
I shrugged. "A little."
He chuckled before becoming more serious. "I know how much you've gone through these past few days but, I need to ask you some questions." He smiled a little. "Is that okay?"
I glanced at Marcus but, nodded. "Okay..."
The docter pulled up the sleave on my left arm and I looked away when the nasty looking scars were visible. I heard Cally take a sharp breath and I bit my lip to keep from saying anything.
The docter looked at the scars before asking, "Where did these come from?"
I cleared my throat. "M-me. I did that..."
The docter nodded slowly, probably having already suspected that. "You had several bruises on your stomach when we worked on you. They were not from your fall."
I stuttered. "I tripped down some stairs... N-nothing too bad..."
He didn't look like he believed me. "You seemed to fall alot. Are you sure?"
I nodded, not looking at him. He frowned. "Eliot, I need you to tell me the truth. How did you get those bruises? I can't help if you don't trust me."
I looked at Marcus again and he nodded. I swallowed before saying, "I got them from-"
"Where's my son?! I have the right to know!"
Cally and Marcus turned to look at the door and I pale. There were arguing voices outside before the door was banged open and two very familiar people walked in.
A few security gaurds followed, uncertain expressions on their faces. My mother saw me and her face hardened. "You!"
The docter glanced at me before he asked, "Excuse me? Who are you? This is an off limits room."
My mother glared at him. "That is our son! We have every right to come in here." She crossed her arms. "Get his papers. We're taking him home."
The docter frowned. "He's still in recovery. You can't take him."
She rolled her eyes. "He's fine. Besides, it serves him right for not being more careful."
I sat quietly, looking between my parents and the docter. Marcus was glaring daggers at my parents and Cally just looked confused and shocked by the whole scene.
The docter didn't look happy. "If you're his parents then can you answer some questions for me. It's for his safety."
My mother narrowed her eyes. "What questions?"
"Your son has some injuries that were not caused by his fall. I'd like to know where they came from." He said.
She huffed. "He's a clutz. He doesn't watch were he's going and does stupid shit that gets him in trouble all the time. Plus, he's mentally unstable. He gets depressed for no reason. He's just a load of trouble." She sneered the last part at me.
I bit my lip. "That's a lie..." I whimpered.
"See? He doesn't even know what he's talking about." She walked towards me and I cowered away. "I'm taking him home and, trust me, you won't ever have to deal with him again."
I braced for her to grab me but, it never came. I looked up and saw Marcus standing in front of me, his eyes glaring holes in my mother. "Don't touch him." He growled.
Cally came to stand next to him. "I don't know what's going on but, I'm siding with the yaoi boys..." She mumbled.
"Who do you think you are?" My mother snapped. "Get out of my way."
Marcus stepped back and slipped an arm around my waist. "You will not be taking him anywhere." I looked up at him and saw how serious he looked. "Marcus..."
The docter, security gaurds, and my parents were all staring at him. Then the docter asked, "Is anyone going to answer my question?"
Marcus glanced at him. "This woman and her husband have made life for Eliot a living hell all his life. They abuse him, verbally and physically. They do everything they can to break him. Those bruises were from them and the scars are from what they did to him. Eliot is a strong person but, these people are monsters that not even he can take." He looked down and smiled at me. "He deserves someone who really loves him."
I leaned into his side, his warm arms holding me tightly. Marcus turned back to my parents. "You don't even know how much he's put up with. You're horrible and disgusting. I don't even know how you live with yourselves."
My parents both looked furious and ready to kill. "You-"
The docter cut my mother off. "Security, take these two and hold them until we can get a police officer down here."
He gaurds grabbed my parents arms. "Please, come with us. Now."
My dad looked pissed and my mom protested loudly. "Let go of me! That is our son and we have every right to do as we please!"
They were pulled out of the room and it soon grew quiet. I was shaking a little and closed my eyes. "Thank you..." I said quietly.
Marcus layed his head on mine and I felt his wramth surround me completely. "Are you okay?" He asked.
I nodded. "Yeah."
Cally was just standing there looking as confused as a person can be. "What just happened...?"
The docter crossed his arms. "I'd like to know that too." He looked at me. "Is everything he said true?"
I looked down. "Yes... I never had the courage to tell anyone before so I just delt with it."
Marcus looked down at me sadly. I took a deep breath. "What's going to happen now?" I asked. Marcus frowned and glanced at Cally.
