[Never Meet Your Heroes]

(Apologies, but I'm not writing the 2012 scenes and may or may not do Kate scenes)

Clint and his kids and Elliot and Sasha were watching the production of Rogers the musical. The brothers weren't enjoying it and kept glancing at the audience without moving their heads.

As Black Widow was mentioned in the song, Elliot stared at the actress portraying her and a haunted, sad look crossed his face.

Sasha glanced at her father and wrapped her hands around his arm, resting her head on his forearm and Elliot smiled briefly at his daughter before turning back to the stage.

"Dad? Uncle Elliot?" Lila said in a muffled voice. "Dad? Uncle Elliot?" Elliot and Clint turned their hearing aids on. "Did you turn your hearing aids off?"

"No, honey, Elliot and I know what happens," Clint told her. "We were there. You know who wasn't there?" He pointed to the stage. "Is that guy."

Elliot nodded. "Ant-Man."

"You two look pretty cool though," Lila said. "That's a plus."

Clint and Elliot focused back on the stage and caught sight of a little girl with red hair waving at them and they smiled at her.

"I'll be right back," Clint told his daughter as he got up.

Elliot nodded and stood as well. "Stay here, Sasha." He followed his brother, seemingly desperate to get away from the performance.

Lila and Sasha glanced at each other, then st Nathaniel who was watching the performance.

Clint and Elliot made their way to the bathroom and saw the words 'thanos was Right' written in permanent ink on the right corner on one of the urinals.

Clint tilted his head and hummed, "Hmm."

Elliot seethed, seeing the words.

A man entered and stood at the urinal to the left of Clint. He unzipped his pants and said to the brothers, "Oh, uh, a selfie would be really rad, dudes. My kids would flip. I mean, you two are their absolute favorites."

"Yeah, um..." Clint began, searching for the right words. "Now's not really the appropriate time." He zipped up his pants and walked away.

Elliot was already washing his hands.

The man stood behind them and held up an autograph book. "Is now a better time?"

The brothers shared a subtle annoyed look and left. They exited the theatre, looking for the kids.

Clint crouched with a groan. "Ooh. Wow."

"Need a walker, old man?" Elliot quipped.

"No, I don't."

Lila and Sasha walked up behind them and the former asked, "Hey, are you two okay?"

Clint stood and placed a hand on his daughter's shoulder. "Oh, hey, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Elliot and I just wanted to come out for some, uh... Some fresh air is all."

"You know it's fine if you two don't wanna watch the show. I mean... I know everyone misses her, but... she was your best friend, Elliot's wife and Sasha's stepmom. It's..."

"Come here, baby." He pulled her in close and kissed the top of her head.

Elliot wrapped an arm around his daughter's shoulders as he said, "This whole thing is a bit ridiculous, isn't it?"

"A lot ridiculous," Sasha and Lila agreed.

"The Hulk part was great," Nathaniel said as he and Cooper exited the theatre.

"Yeah, I liked the Hulk," Cooper stated.

"Hey, Dad. Hey, Lila. Hi, Uncle Elliot. Hi, Sasha."

"Hey, guys!" Clint greeted. "What's up? What you doing? What you doing here?"

Nathaniel wrapped his arms around his father and looked up before laughing. "Why is everyone singing and dancing about everything?"

Clint and Elliot laughed as they answered, "I don't know."

Clint ruffled his youngest son's hair and kissed the top of his head before saying, "But it's Christmas in New York." He looked to his eldest two and to Sasha. "And we're out of here. Right?"

"Yeah," Sasha and Lila agreed.

Clint and Cooper high-fived each other as Nathaniel said, "All right."

"Let's show Mom/Aunt Laura what she's missing," Clint suggested as the six began walking away.

"Yeah."

"Come on, bud." He placed a hand on his youngest son's hair.

Sasha linked her arm around her father's.

The six left the theatre grounds, eager to check New York out.
