Hello!
I'm very satisfied with these stories. They're not the best and I obviously have some mistakes but my goal was to show a healthy type of a love. Something where both parties are in continuous pain but rather enjoying some level of happiness in life. I address that there were several differences in Hadsaa as compared to Naz and Rehbar because not everyone is emotionally available to love. And in Rubina and Omair's story, there was a lot of miscommunication and lack of trust which is why they weren't a part of Izzat An-Nisa.
I used to hate the notion of love and of marriage. Growing up in Pakistani culture, it was hard to find a good representation of what a loving marriage was. For men, it was merely responsibility and for women it was sacrifice and compromise.
I used to announce, "I'm never getting married! I'll never love anyone!"
But I found myself stumbling onto love stories and seeing that romance also existed in our community, it is just harder to find it. Girls, don't settle for less. I don't mean go after the man with the most money, the best looks, or other worldly things (although I wouldn't judge because material gworl 💅 and all that!) I mean don't settle for how a man treats you.
Men have been created to protect their women, to care for them and to treat them with love. Don't accept anything less.
Much love and much thanks,
-No.
