Chapter 1 - Home
(Okay, i wrote this when i was like 12 or 13 so.. But it gets better towards the middle so hang in there, im workin on it XD)
Ella's POV
As I slam my apartment door shut, maybe a little too loud for the neighbors, an enormous smile gracing my lips, I run and jump onto my couch, stuffing my face into a pillow. My boyfriend, Zach, told me he'd take me out for my birthday to a nice diner. Well, he texted, yet I was still over joyed at the news.
I lift up my head, needing to breath, sighing in content. I get up and start unpacking the remainder boxes that I had scattered around my apartment. I flick my hair across my shoulder, as I pick up a box setting it on the kitchen counter.
I had just moved yesterday, to Cincinnati, Ohio, needing a change and to be closer to Zach. Zach lives in the same city as me, but on the other side of town. We had been dating for a while now, and I had met him in California at a festival nearly 3 years ago.
As I grab a couple plastic bowls, my phone buzzes in my pocket. I put the bowls into the cupboard and I grab my phone and see a notification for a free food coupon. I delete it nonchalantly, and put my phone in my back pocket. I grab silverwear from the large box when I hear my cat meow. I sigh, getring slightly annoyed at all the interuptions.
I shoo her away and I put some of my glass plates away. I start putting away some more of the plastic cups when a loud thud came from the building right across from mine, startling me.
I drop the cups on the floor, as i jump at the noise, and my cat hisses from the loud bang and the cups and darts to the closet.
I sigh, irritated, and pick up the cups. I put them away while rolling my eyes by the weird noises that have been going on and walk over to my bedroom.
I pick up my phone and turn on some music. I get my notepad, pencils, and my phone, and go sit on my couch.
I look up from my couch and see my small kitchen. Well at least I have an instant seat from the kitchen to the couch.
Then my black cat jumps up on the sink counter, right where the kitchen window's light is. She lays down and closes her eyes, absorbing the warmth of the sun light, like most cats do. I stare at her for a moment before shrugging. Usually, I would get her off, but whats the point. She would just jump back up over and over again. She gets what she wants and nobody can stop her. Eh, shes lazy, I'm lazy right now, she can stay there a while.
I decide I'll draw her before I cook dinner. I would say I'm a pretty good drawer, I actually had some of my paintings hung up in my old college. I would say that happily, but that college also never gave me back my work, but I'm still happy it got hung up.
Almost when the drawings done, I hear another thud, making me glance around the room before going back to the sketch. I finish her tail out of memory - she moved a while ago - and I leave my sketch book on the couch to go start my food.
I look through my newly stocked fridge and decide to make my home-made casserole. It consists of rice, broccoli, cheese, and some other boring ingredients.
As one of my favorite songs come on, my phone still playing music, See You Again by Charlie Puth feat. Wiz Khafila, while I'm putting all of it into the oven, I smile and sway my hips back and forth, already having my dance routine in my head.
I start to dance and turn it up a little bit. As the song ends, I finish my routine and bow. Of course, I also was a dance major, but I gave that up since I had to focus on school.
A couple more songs including more dancing and then the stove beeps. I pause the music and take it out, and serve myself a bowl and put the rest away and start to eat on my couch.
