Will was lying down on his bed, hugging his knees for dear life, as if he let go, they would fall off. His eyes were puffy and red, with tears falling down. They were slow now, with a slight burn to his eyes every time they dragged out of his eyes and onto his face. He kept staring at the broken walkie talkie on the ground, wishing it would fix itself, and lead his to hear what he wished he heard, but sadly, the world doesn't work that way, and he got "Will, can you come to the movies with me and El, so Hopper will let her go?" Will was so pissed that he let himself agree to it afterwards, it got to the point where he threw his walking talkie into the wall.

When Will finally got the energy to sit up, he was an hour late for Mike's date with El, not like he cared, he just sat and looked at the new dent in his wall. It felt like forever had passed when he suddenly heard the phone ring. He was home alone at the time, and he didn't want to listen to ringing, so he got the energy to stand up and left to go answer the phone

"OH MY GOD WILL FINALLY" It was quite a loud voice, Lucas' voice to be exact. "What do you mean finally?" Will got onto the kitchen counter with the phone in his hands and started playing with the cord. "We've been trying to reach you on your walkie talkie for the past hour, why didn't you pick up?"  Will sighed quietly, "It's broken. I'll talk to you later, bye." "Wai-" Will hung up the phone and unplugged it as it rang again.

A long while had passed sense the boy unplugged the phone, he had gone back to his room to sulk, but he got hungry, so he left his room for the kitchen. "Snack time." Will kept mumbling to himself as he walked to grab a pack of Reese's Pieces. Suddenly, there was a loud knock at the door. "Huh?" He walked to the door and kept wondering who was at the door. It was late afternoon and raining a lot for mid-summer. Needless to say, he opened the door, and what he saw shocked him. Standing on his porch soaking wet was Lucas and Mike.

"What are you doing here?" Will motioned for them to get inside. Lucas was first to speak, "Why weren't you answering the phone. We called like 5 times." Will grabbed a few towels and handed them to the soaking boys. "Simple, I unplugged the phone." Mike spoke this time, "Why di-" Will cut him off. "I did it because I didn't want to listen to it ring over and over, alright MICHAEL" The other boys were stunned, they never head Will call Mike that, ever. Will walked over to the kitchen and grabbed a pack of Reese's Pieces. When he returned to the living room, he found the boys still standing, stunned. "Well do you have any more business here or are you just gonna stand there all surprised?" The other boys looked at each other not knowing what to say or do next. Mike finally got the courage to say something.

"Will?" He boy looked at him with a dull expression, one that terrified Mike. "Yes Mike?" Mike took a deep swallow and answered. "Are you alright Will? Is something going on?" Will stood up and took a deep breath and replied with the most sarcastic tone he had, "I'm fine Mike, lonely, but doing pretty damn great on my own" Will then started to turn around, but Mike grabbed his hand. "Will, you don't sound okay." Lucas read the room and decided it was best for him to leave, he would come back later to check on Will.

"Are you just noticing this Mike? because if you are, you are so far behind." Will could feel his eyes start to water again. "Will...what did I do?" Will took Mikes hand off of his own and took a step back. "Mike I have been miserable this past summer, you've been so obsessed with El, and don't get me wrong, I'm happy for you, but you never spend time with the rest of us anymore." Both boys took a deep breath. "Will.." The small brunette boy couldn't hold back his tears any longer, "And Lucas kept hanging out with Max, and Dustin was the only left that hung out with me, but now he's at camp and I have no one left.." Mike looked at the sobbing boy, now realizing what he had done. He hugged Will. "I'm sorry, I never meant to." Will pushed Mike away, "Well it's too late for that, now get out." Mike looked surprised, "Will I-" "Mike get out, please.." Mike could sense that Will meant it, and he left.

Will ran to his room after Mike left, and he sobbed quietly, he didn't care anymore, he just wished Mike realized what he had done sooner. Mike quickly began biking home, trying to get out of the rain. The rain began to get stronger, and some wind showed up, making it hard to bike without moving to the side. His mind kept wandering; he was worried about Will, wondering if he had noticed how the boy was feeling sooner, this wouldn't have happened. Mike's wondering soon got the best of him, and he paid the price for it. All the boy could see was red, and then it was soon black, all in a matter of seconds. "HEY KID! SHIT, MARTHA WE HIT SOME KID." That was the last thing the curly haired boy heard before he passed out.

Mike slowly started to open his eyes, he was dizzy and felt lightheaded, all he saw was a bright light. "Hey, can you hear me?" Mike responded very softly, "Yes" He couldn't see anybody. "You're in a hospital now, can you tell me your name?" Mike felt everything become heavy and could barely keep his eyes open any longer. "Hey, HEY? WE HAVE A CODE BLUE HER-" Everything went fuzzy and then black. The doctors and nurses did everything they could, even surgery, but it was too late, he couldn't be fixed.
