A/N: Hey, this is first every story so I hope you enjoy it and thank you
so much for even glancing at this book, it means so much to me. :)

The funny thing about life is that it goes so quickly, without anyone noticing it. People walk around with hope painted on their faces not knowing that death was knocking on their door, like Y/N. Their life was beautiful, they were beautiful... Maybe the problem with life is it drains anything meaningful. Leaving it to wilt like a rose or maybe it was me, making empty promise trying to give them hope...

“Hmm..” Your mother whispered. “What mom?” “Wasn’t there a strange boy who usually sits by the cave.” She said while cleaning the counter. “I think so.” “Poor boy, all alone in that mansion.” She says sympathetically. “How do you know he's alone?” You remark. “Well think about it, why would such a handsome young man spend all his time up on a cave when he could instead be playing with his friends.” She then began to rant ways someone can get kidnapped. You weren’t paying that much attention to what she was saying, until something caught your attention. “You should become friends with him.” The brunette proposed. Before you could think of a response, your mother was already tossing you your jacket and shoes. “Mom, I hardly even know him. What if he's crazy or what if-” She grabbed both of your shoulders and bent down to eye level. “Now be nice, you don’t know anything about him yet.” You open your mouth to speak, but she shushes you. “Just try to be friendly to him, now off you go.” She instructed, rushing you out of your small cottage.

As you walk out of your tiny home and into the field of flowers behind your house, you can feel someone's eyes glued on you. Suddenly something grabs a hold of your waist and spins you around. “DAD!” You exclaim. “LET GO OF ME!!” Giggling as he tickles your stomach. “Where ya going kiddo?” He asked as he gives up on his attack. “Just to the cave.” “Oh…Did your mother let you go?” He disappointingly asks. “Well she kinda made me go..” He muttered something you couldn't hear under his breath. “Ok, well I’m going to go and talk to your mom about something.” As he trails off, he then yells,” Come back by 6!” Mentally nodding your head, you continue to stroll down the gravel trail to the cave.

“Hello?! Is anyone there?” Your voice echoes through the cave walls and silent black figures walk towards you, hidden behind the shadows. You slowly back away and the figure begins to walk faster, you then sprint out of the sea cave not looking to see who it was back into the grassy field. The figure seems to have shouted something while running straight at you. You knew you couldn’t outrun them so you threw a stone at their face. The Figure groaned as the stone made contact with his face. “Why would you do that?” He moaned. “YOU WERE CHASING ME?!” You howled. Blood was then sliding down his forehead and arm as he tried to put pressure on his wound. You could see figments of his face, surprisingly he wasn’t as you expected. He was shorter than you, with brown curly locks of hair framing his rectangular face. He looks about 11 or 12, or at least close to your age. “Can you pass me my book or are you just going to keep staring at me?” He said with an American accent. “Huh, are you american?” You questioned.

“Yeah, I’m just visiting my dad during the summer.” “Which part of America are you from?” “Queens.” He stated while trying to prevent more blood coming out of his head. “You have an American accent, are you from america?” “Um, yeah I lived in San Francisco until I moved here 2 years ago.” An awkward silence filled the foggy air. “Hi, I’m Y/N.” You greeted, stretching your palm out for him to shake. “Mattheo, I’m in that manor up the hill with my dad.” He pointed out again. “Oh I live in the cottage downhill with my mom, dad, and aunt.” “Well, it was nice to meet you . I have to go before my dad gets upset.” He waves goodbye as he runs off uphill to the gloomy manor. You wave back and head towards your house. Mattheo… I feel I’ve seen him before…
