A silenced truth

I froze when I heard it, this cursed sound but when I collected all of my thoughts, I tried to remove Yelena's hand from blocking my view whereas she was still forcing the sight to be kept away from me, the awful scene that must have taken place was something I can only hope to be revealed one day. I heard running and whispers all around us, I could make out Lev's voice and Haileen's while I was yet still oblivious to everything that was happening. Yelena was now keeping me close to her, her arms trapping against her torso, she then easily picked me up and dragged me and my dignity, as I did nothing to stop her from doing so nor was a weight to even bother her in the slightest, to a room adjacent to the staircase. She opened the door and closed it before putting me down or rather throwing me on a chair, she had just gotten behind the desk in the middle of the room when I got up and started running toward the door.

Yelena: Shit- Rose come back here!

I had only touched the handle as it flew open, showing a more or less sad Lev with blood on his sleeves, he must have had some on his hands as well, but he wiped it away leaving it only on shirt which is probably never going back to his natural white. I tried to walk past him, push him, do anything to see what occurred a few seconds ago.

Lev: Rose, please stop... Go sit back down...

I did not listen, I won't... Once I saw that I was not going anywhere, I turned to Yelena, clearly angry with her, as she was facing me, she saw it but decided that rolling her eyes and turning around, so her back was facing me, was the wisest choice she could make. I took three deep breaths as I know that making a scene and getting mad at one another without having all the elements to understand was just as idiotic. What I not considered was the coldhearted blonde's comments were always true to her heart even if they hurt like a bunch of needles piercing through your flesh.

Yelena: You might have had your past with him, loved him, cared for him but no matter how close you two were, you cannot change the person he was willing to become and the ideals he defended were, are and will always be dystopic to us all. As much as you wanted, you couldn't help him nor save him from the horror he and himself alone, committed.

Rose: How dare you say such thing! Furthermore, it was not Yemelyan, I made a mistake.

Lev: No, you didn't.

Rose: ... Yemelyan is dead, he has been for the past decade.

Yelena: Well, if he wasn't before, he is now.

Lev snickered at his sister's backtalk, she surely did not mean it to be funny, yet I know that she is proud of what she just said. However, I didààààààààààààààààààà not find it amusing in the slightest, I look in disbelief at Lev, how could he laugh in such moment? His beloved sibling just shot my best friend! Does he not have a heart nor even have the decency, maturity to realize that something is clearly wrong, and Yelena's remark is truly out of place. I was so angry at them and at myself also with the wedding coming up for people to like me instead of shooting in the back of the head. I had been here for less then a day and a lot of things are already going wrong! I felt like crying and screaming but not in front of them, they can never know that they got to me.

Yelena: You were not aware of what he has done but even if you did, you will have defended him because you love him but God! Can't you suffer for the greater good?

Rose: The greater good? Really? Do you truly believe that? How is it the best solution? Killing people who do not have the same beliefs as you?

Lev: Do not take it personally, we were asked to kill him, you, being taken away was not supposed to occur, I am sorry, and I present you my deepest apologies for living such an unpleasant time.
