Krist & Singto in The Practice Boyfriends (Completed)

The Practice Boyfriends: Chapter 9

"Aye's taken the bet too," Namtan says as she and Singto cross paths on their way to set.

He grins, "So 10 of them think you're wrong?"

"Yeah - 70,000 Baht! Can you believe it?"

Singto laughs, "Kit's going to love this!"

"If he can get here?"

"Huh? What do you mean, Nam?"

She frowns, "The reason that P'Off agreed to take the bet is that he says Krist has a schedule on your birthday so even if I have insider info, there's no way he'll actually end up here."

"Right.. well.. don't worry, your money's safe, Kit's coming no matter what! Promise!"

She nods and then hurries away while he heads off to kiss Plustor in a hotel room a little way from the room he's sleeping in (and hopefully not think about Krist again).

"Can you actually come?" He whispers into his phone later that night after sharing Namtan's messages.

"Yeah, yeah, don't worry, two days time, I'll be there and that 70K is ours - for the charity anyway. I might have asked P'Boyd to book me out over your birthday so that will be why P'Off thinks I'm busy."

"Clever!"

"But.. I'm going to have to bring the kids.. there's no-one free to look after them.. can we all stay with you?"

Singto sighs, "Hard to sneak around when you've got two cats, Kit?"

"Well," he grins mischievously, "Think about it, we do want everyone to find out I was there, right? So, if they hear cats.. then that proves it!"

Singto nods along, "But you'll have to get seen too.. won't you?"

"Yeah, yeah, don't worry, I'm going to 'forget' your present in the car and sneak out for it and get spotted by Aye or someone? Okay?"

"Sounds good.. now, how was your day?"

The day of Singto's birthday dawns bright and cheerful. He starts it with a long phone call with his father, catching up on all that they had missed. His father understands him better than anyone in his life, so he shares a little of what's going on with Krist and he nods and smiles and tells him that whatever he wants to do, he will bless him.

It takes Singto quite a while to convince his Por that he's not actually pursuing a relationship with Krist but that they will be doing two things:

Getting back at the friends who are being idiots about it and betting on them by manipulating them slightly and raising money for charity.
Practicing being a good date for the future when he meets someone very special and wants something serious.
His Por nods along but Singto can see that he is still unconvinced so when they end the phone call he feels a little uneasy.

On set, he is greeted with a huge number of congratulations, cakes and presents and he spends a little time making short videos to be shared on social media to thank the sponsors.

There are a couple with mini-Krist's on there too and he makes sure that those ones are clearly displayed to support their current subterfuge.

Namtan greets him joyfully and raises an eyebrow, so he tilts his screen to show her Krist's latest message that he's on his way.

Then they launch into their working day.

Around five PM, the cast are told they can take a break, so Singto rushes up to his room, dashing away from requests to join the others for a drink to toast his health.
