Thanks for reading! I figured I might as well provide some explanation after each chapter, separating the piece and the explanation to keep them from conflicting.
This was just a random thing I did off of a specific prompt for a contest though I didn't quite follow the prompt legitly, I kinda just made it a little weird. The character in the story isn't supposed to be me, though I was just trying to use some first-person writing.
The general concept is based on a weird "nightmare" I had. I'm putting the word nightmare in quotations because you can't really say it was a nightmare really, it just felt a little off. In my previous dreams of the week I had a little foreshadowing of something bad happening when a doorbell rang, and one night when I was dreaming about the doorbell ringing I made the connection and felt like something was wrong.
I obviously woke up because I didn't know what else to do but it was a little interesting how that happened tbh so I was like "why not hyper-exaggerate it and make it into a submission for this contest?"
