Henry couldn't find his words, as he stared at the state of Molly and Salty. Molly was alright, but Salty was wearing an eye patch and he had an open wound on the side of his face. When he finally asked what happened, Molly explained that when she got to the Docks last night, she saw that Salty had lost his left eye and blood was flowing out of it. His crew had been trying to stop the bleeding, but Molly had to do something to help, so she backed into Salty and took him to the works, and that was where they've been all day. Henry then turned to him and asked how he lost his eye, he sighed and began to tell his side of the story.
He was just shunting James and BoCo's trucks one by one into spare sidings, ready for the cargo to be unloaded and after doing the same with Nia's trucks when she arrived, he prepared some coaches for James for his evening local to Knapford. But as soon as he stopped at a siding to rest, he heard Nia screaming as she was killed by Jason and saw James and BoCo running for their lives. And as for Jason, he was holding a spear instead of a machete, and was slowly walking towards him. Salty's crew were inside the station, so he didn't know what to do. He tried to tell Jason to stay away from him, but he just didn't listen and proceeded to stab Salty right in the eye and pull it out, along with cut a bit of his face off. Salty's screams had alerted not just his crew, but the tank engine twins Bill and Ben as they rushed to see what was happening to him.
Workmen were already rushing towards Salty to save him, while Bill and Ben distract Jason by making him chase them down to the clay pits. While it did work, he had no idea what happened to Bill and Ben after that, as he was taken to the works by Molly in the morning. He hoped they were safe, and so do we.
After some more discussions about everything, Salty agreed to come with us back to the docks. We didn't really have to worry about Molly right now, because the stationmaster had agreed to let her take Henry's coaches and carry on the work for us, pretty much saving us the trouble while we make our way back to the docks. And so with the plan sorted, we set off with Salty behind us, and we were just glad that he was feeling a bit better. Despite everything he had gone through, Salty was the same dockside diesel we know and love, and Henry was just relieved that he was still with us.
I wish I could say things got better for us, but as soon as we reached Killdane, that's when shit hit the fan...
We switched to the sidings around the station and stopped there, because we saw Rebecca, Gordon and Percy. They looked like they were talking about what happened to them and Percy looked tired, which as it turns out, he had to shunt Gordon's coaches out of the way and put them at the platform. Henry too was wondering what happened to the two big engines, so they began to tell us. It was around the same time we were pulling our local passenger train, and Rebecca was just at Kirk Ronan with her own local, which I guess explains why we didn't see her, and had to push her whole train there, because the nearest turntable to her was under repairs. She didn't mind though, because she was just happy to be useful. But out of nowhere, after the voice of Jason echoed around the station, he began to kill some of the nearest staff and passengers on the platform, causing everyone to go into a panic. Rebecca ran backwards out of the station, but had forgotten to couple back up to her coaches. She wanted to stop and go back for them, but when Jason saw her, she knew she had to leave her poor coaches and passengers behind. When she reached the junction, she rushed to the other track towards Killdane, but as soon as she passed the difficult bend, she popped a piston around Balladrine and came to a stop. That was when she saw Gordon approach her on the same line and slammed on his brakes just in time. At first, Gordon was cross and asked Rebecca why she was in the middle of the mainline, but as soon as he saw Jason behind her and was slowly approaching them, he quickly buffered up to her and they both went straight to Killdane in reverse. They didn't go very fast though, since Gordon still had his express, but it was fast enough for them to get away from Jason. Once they were there, Gordon told the station master to get an engine to put his coaches on the platform for another engine to take over the express for him while he looked after Rebecca, to which he agreed and sent for Percy.
Salty then asked Rebecca where her crew was, and she said that they were talking to the station master about trying to figure out who will take the express instead to Vicarstown, before Henry could even offer to help, we all heard a bunch of screaming from the town under the station and saw Jason kill a whole bunch of people, then he suddenly looked up at us and slowly started to make his way towards the station. Rebecca blew her whistle loud and long to alert her crew, but that was a big mistake for her, because when she broke her piston, water had been leaking out of her. Her crew arrived as fast as they could and jumped into the cab, but we soon realized that Rebecca's face was turning as red as James' paintwork and her boiler was now completely dry. Her crew were trying desperately hard to cool her off, while Percy was begging us to save her and Gordon yelled at him to not approach her, and then it happened... it all happened so fast, that my hand is shaking as I am writing this down. When it all became too much for her, Rebecca shut her eyes and screamed so loud, till her boiler exploded.
Like, oh my god... oh my fucking god. First of all, boiler tubes went everywhere. Some of them flew by Gordon and nearly killed him, since they were just so close to his face and cab window. Henry and Salty were alright, we managed to back them away from Rebecca before she went off, and Percy... oh god, Percy... a lot of her blood had splattered all over the right side of him, and his face was filled with pure horror, mixed with the blood, which didn't help. And as for Rebecca's crew, they were already killed from the explosion, so they didn't even stood a chance. Even though Jason finally got to the platform through the silence around the area, Percy ran off screaming, while we took Gordon and got the fuck out of there. The poor engine was devastated, and so was Henry. There just wasn't any time to mourn for our friend. Everything was just happening so fast, and we didn't even get the chance to say goodbye to Rebecca. We can all hear Gordon crying, but we all needed to get to Maron as fast as possible.
...we made it, we finally got to Maron just as the sun is starting to set. I'm sorry if I'm not gonna be able to write a lot of things here, we've just been through so much. Henry and Salty had finally calmed Gordon down and promised him that we'll make Jason pay. It kind of helped, but Gordon's grief had turned into rage, as he asked the most obvious question. Why did Jason have to ruin our home and kill off so many good people along with a few engines? None of us of course, had an answer. But even still, our only goals right now is to try and find more survivors, as well as find a way to stop Jason's rain of terror that he has brought onto our home. I'm going to stop writing again, I feel like we all need some time to ourselves.
