Uthur lets go of me. I curtsy. I look up to see Arthur wink at me. "Come now! We must get you moved in! Call Gwyn!" Uthur said. "She's been DYING to see you again!" Arthur said. "You called?" A young voice said. I see Gwyn enter. She gasps at the sight of me. "Madeline!" She says, running over to me. We hug. "Gwyn!" I say. We let go. "Look at you! You're less skinny than I imagined! Being out in the woods for ten years!" She said. "Yeah. Luckily, my dad left me his bow." I say. We laugh. "Luckily? He planned it! He always did!" Gwyn said. We laugh again. "Gwyn!" Uthur bellowed. She jumped and curtsied to the king. "Yes sir?" "Show our new ward to her quarters. You know, the one you had picked out?" He said. She bursted with excitement. "Yes sir!" She grabbed me, I grabbed my bow case, and she led me excitedly out the door.
"You'll LOVE your new quarters! Do you remember that tower with the room at the top with the walkway out of the window? Yeah! That's your quarters!" She said excitedly. "No way!" I say. That was my favorite room in the castle. It was made for a princess, I forgot which, but it had been a guest room after. We run up the spiraling stairs to a wooden door. It looked decently clean. "I clean it in my spare time." She said. I giggle. "You wouldn't give up on me, would you?" I asked. "Nope!" She said. We laughed.
We entered. It seemed to be in perfect shape. The bed was perfectly made, the curtains big and beautiful, and the huge window fluorescent and transparent. The closet was filled with beautiful dresses from the finest silk to the warmest wool. I looked down at my own dress. The bear and deer skin dress sewed with leaves wasn't anything compared to these articles. "You should put on something a bit more comfortable." Gwyn suggested. I nodded in agreement. I took of my cloak and laid it on the huge bed. Gwyn pulled a dark blue silk dress with elegant silver designs on it. "No, I couldn't possibly..." "But you can! Why do you think the King kept these here?" She countered. We go behind the screen and Gwyn helps me into the dress. It's elegant silk against my skin felt like the gentle waves crashing against the soft sand. She finishes. We walk over to the mirror. She pulls out my braid. "I made a brush out of grass and branches, so my hair isn't that tangled." I say. "Okay. Ouch." "You get use to it." I say. We laugh. She pulls out a real brush and starts to pull it through my hair. "You may have had a brush, but my! So many tangles!" I giggle. She finishes. Seeing my hair so strait was strange. Gwyn starts a French braid. When she finishes, she sighs. "You might as well be a princess!" She said. There is a knock at the door. "Yes?" Gwyn answered. "The King wants the ward to join him." A voice said. "Thanks Flossie." She said. "Well, the King awaits!" She said, excited.
