You had the most basic life ever. Stacking cups on every waiting plate you had. Making sure not to piss off any potential customers that lingered outside looking at the blackboard menu. I mean, it wasn't that bad. You had your best friend, Xiu, who helped you with your shifts. (Even if she was merely a customer)As the sunset in the horizon behind the New York buildings that reflected each ray of the golden sun that complimented the café's bister colour palette. You watched as it set behind the reflecting building. Each minute passing as the clouds became orange, pink and to end off, a violet shade.
Just as it set your alarm went off, marking the end of your shift. You stared around the café to only find Xiu and your coworkers leaving the café to head home. You take off your name tag and leave it in your assigned drawer that the area manager installed after one of your coworkers, Lia, had misplaced her name tag. You lift your head to see Xiu approaching you. 'Are you heading home, now?' 'obvi babes, it's night duh. you simple or sumn lolzies' Xiu snickered. 'Yeah, well, I have to head off like...' She paused to check her watch, 'right now. I'll see you tomorrow, (y/n).' 'right then, bye. lol.'
Xiu shot you a look before leaving, one of a loving friend. You cleared up the last of the dishes and put them on the rack. (after cleaning them, of course.) You put on your foundation on your lips, which you used as lipgloss. You fixed your lashes, which were hanging on by an inch. Fighting for it's life like Emmett Villin. You kept your hair in your beautiful messy bun, leaving the café in your work uniform since the world could not handle your beautiful chav clothes.
You left the café as the wind blew in your direction, the only people left on the street distracted by your beauty that left everyone speechless. The wind working in your favour you were able to walk home rather quickly, at least in the direction to your home before you were stopped in your tracks by someone.
'Yes, Max we can't do that. That would get us cancelled and you in jail.' Over the phone you heard two faint voices, 'Yeah, Max.' and another, 'L. I'm doing i—' You were only allowed a breath before bumping into the stranger. Spilling hot coffee all over your clothes.
'ugh! bare nasty you are! how dare you?? honestly the nerve of you.' You yell at the stranger, who was wearing a black hoodie and beige pants. 'Oh, I'm sorry!' 'man you bare stink too? proper nasty innit.' The stranger quickly holds up the phone to her ear again. 'I have to go guys. Something just happened, call you when I'm at home.' Quickly, she pats her pockets for a paper towel as you soaked in the hot coffee. She finds one and starts to wipe the coffee off you. Quietly she says, 'Sorry.' You were the only two left in the street, left to soak in the moons light.
'I'm Margaux.' You scoffed, 'alright well, i'm not here for no introductions bruv. i'm well getting drenched in your burning coffee like...' She chuckles at your comment. 'I'm trying to make it less awkward here, dude.' You eye her. 'okayyy..?' She stops patting the coffee off. 'I know we just met, but, can I bring you on a date?' 'excuse me?! the nerve of you! spilling your nasty ass coffee on me, now—' 'It's for a gimmick, so could you?' 'what do i got to do, babes?' 'Be yourself and I'll give you a $100,000.'
'do i get to meet jared leto though like...'
'Yes.'
'ok'
