Kaycee pulled over at Sean's apartment parking lot at 10 am in a Saturday. She thought to herself how much she'd missed him. They hadn't see each other in almost two months now that he had been super busy with his recent projects that didn't seem to include her any longer. She shrugged the thoughts as she walked to his doorstep and she knocked.
Nothing.
She tried again this time louder after she pulled out her phone to text him. Maybe he was showering or putting his headphone on.
hey i'm outside (delivered 10.07)
yoohooo (delivered 10.10)
Still no response. She knocked again. "Seaaan."
Kaycee glanced at the clock on her phone. 10.17. She decided to facetime him.
No answer.
Kaycee frowned at her phone. Did he really forget that we're supposed to hang out today?
sean? (delivered 10.18)
To be completely honest Kaycee had already started feeling insecure about herself. She felt that maybe she's not a good enough friends to be around. Most of her closest friends, like Tahani, and Bailey somewhat drifted away, heck she thought they only saw each other once or twice this year. And Sean. She tried. She really tried to be in contact with him every time she had the chance. She would have liked to think that Sean too had put effort to be in contact with her but his super tight schedule with his acting career and several other projects that came up all at once made it impossible for them to be like they used to. Maybe because everyone was growing up. Maybe because new people stepped into their live.
She did't realize she was lost in thoughts while staring at the door. She jumped slightly when the door was suddenly opened.
"Kaycee? Hey, sorry I didn't hear the door."
Kaycee's frowned.
It wasn't Sean who opened that door.
It was Sean's new best friend. He seemed to spend all his free time goofing around with him nowadays. They had never met in person but hearing her name coming out from him was still somewhat strange.
"Come on in. Sean didn't mention you'd come over today." He said while he stepped aside and gestured her to come in.
"Umm hi? I- Yitai right?" Kaycee felt awkward but she came inside anyway.
"Yeah! Holy shit we've never met before! I'm Yitai, yeah, nice to meet you, Kaycee" Yitai gave her a wide smile as he stretched out his hand.
Kaycee returned the smile and shook his hand. "Hey.. You.. knew who I am?" Kaycee mentally slapped herself. 'But what else am I supposed to say?' She internally panicked a little bit.
"Of course I knew who Kaycee Rice is. Other than you're my best friend's best friend and he talks about you like all the time, I think you're categorized as professional world-renowned dancer."
"Oh thanks.. I guess." Kaycee blushed slightly as she looked down."And I know Sean's would have told me a lot about you too if we 'ever' hang out these days. But I saw you often on his social media." She added sadly. In all honesty, often would be an understatement since Yitai almost always popped up on Sean's instagram posts and stories.
