I personally apologize for the time it took to get this story out. After my recent A/N I had received some bad news within my family and had been physically and mentally gone the past week or so. It's still hitting but I'm making myself write because I made a promise!!
Enjoy the Chapter!

Elizabeth sighed as she watched the dark outside world from the fragile glass of her window. The destroyed kingdom she saw before her reminded her of the thing she hated most, war.
The demon who held her captive was a creature of death, destruction, evil, and war. To make it worse he was to be her husband. How could she live knowing the rest of her days would be next to a man she would never love?
A goddess is a creature of light and demons are creatures of darkness, how would this marriage even work?

A knock on the door stole the goddess's attention as dark eyes met her own. A demon with a white cloak and darkness adoring his body stood before her, examining her before speaking.
"His majesty wishes me to be by your side princess"

"like...a bodyguard?" Elizabeth asked getting a curt nod in return

"I'll be waiting outside so you can have your privacy, if you need anything just call" and with that the demon started his trek out of the room

"wait!" Elizabeth called grabbing the male's attention "w-what is your name"

The demon stared blankly at her with uninterest "Monspeet"

"It is a pleasure to meet you Sir Monspeet"

"likewise" Monspeet stated with a neutral tone before closing the door

Elizabeth sighed, of course se wouldn't have any company to talk to, she's stuck within her own prison after all. The goddess returned her gaze to the outside world. This may be her few moments of peace and no one will take it away from her but she cant help but feel alone. A single white pawn surrounded by an entire board of black.
The girl would give anything to see her friends again back within the heavenly realm but at this point she finds escape to be an impossible option at the moment. The goddess's brows furrowed as her eyes caught silver bob over a roof. A seemingly muscular man jumped upon a roof, he seemed to look around before kneeling down until another figure appeared. A slim feminine figure with lavender hair climbed up and seemed to exchange a few words with the man as he seemed to laugh before getting hit in the shoulder by his female companion.

Elizabeth tried to grab their attention by making silent but obnoxious movements in clear view. The couple noticed nothing as they snuck off causing the female the grit her teeth and growl to herself "Curses!" she screeched.
The door opened and Monspeet emerged from the hall with a raised eyebrow

"Is everything okay in here?" the demon asked with yet again another monotone voice.

"Oh!" Elizabeth stuttered "Y-Yes everything is perfect Sir Monspeet"

The demon gave the goddess a questioning look before closing the door behind him "The king invited you to an audience with him in the dining hall"

"Oh, please tell him I politely decli-"

"It wasn't a request" Monspeet interrupted Elizabeth as he opened the door and held it open as he raised an eyebrow to the goddess.

Elizabeth sighed and nodded as she strode passed Monspeet and found herself face to face with another demon who had ginger hair, no clothing, and darkness that covered her body in act of clothing.
"So, this is the goddess" the woman huffed

"Come now Derieri, we have to guard her not like her" Monspeet said once again plainly as he passed the two women "Come on"
Derieri glared at Elizabeth and jerked her head to the side making the goddess find interest in the flooring as she sped forward to follow Monspeet's lead.

The three walked in silence, a silence quiet enough that every breath and step could be heard. Monspeet directed Elizabeth into a room who he stood at the door causing the girl to be confused
"We can't have you seeing the king dressed like a maid. The staff insisted"

"That's very kind of them" Elizabeth stood astounded at the kindness of the palace staff as she entered the room and gasped at the beautiful dress before her. The dress lay upon a desk. White fabric spread across the wooden surface with golden string lace the edges of the dress and neckline. White feather like patterns adorn the back and sides of the outfit as two white stems of fabric fall to the sides to wave behind the wearer as they walk. Two arm braces lay next to the dress as white as the fabric also with golden lining and a singular red gem on the wrist of each cuff as two white heels lay on the floor. "This is- this is beautiful..." the goddess gaped

"Yeah Yeah, get dressed princess we gotta be there soon" Derieri grumbled as she closed the door behind her leaving her and Monspeet in the hall separated from Elizabeth.

Elizabeth stood in front of a large set of doors, a lump in her throat. Behind these doors there is a demon, and not just any demon, the king of demons.

"Come on princess, go in so we can go away" Derieri growled causing the goddess to look back at her then back to the doors.
With her wings hidden the air around her felt eerily cold as her gaze was glued to the door. Slowly she opened the wooden doors causing a creak to run through the silent halls.

Before her lay a long table adorned with candle light with trays of seemingly endless dishes that rested upon it's wooden surface. Candles adorned the stone walls with small candle stands standing upon the table leaving light to dance across the room. The darkness of the night shone beautifully through the windows against the wall, tapestries rested along the walls and pillars making the goddess smile.

"If I didn't know any better I'd say that's a smile" a voice rang through the room making the goddess look back to see the demon king himself sitting on the center chair of the table "They say a goddess's smile is the most beautiful thing in all realms. Seems not every word that comes out of their mouths are filthy lies"

"y-your majesty!" the goddess gasped as fear quickly took root in her heart

"I thought I told you to call me by my name" Meliodas stood as he started to walk towards his future bride "we are to be married after all"

"my apologies" Elizabeth bowed her head as the king's every move caused her to flinch
Anger started to boil in the king's blood at the girl's every reaction

"Just sit" he demanded as he turned back to his chair but then he hesitated "we have quite a bit to talk about"

"oh..."
