Nature is not cruel, but it could send your concept of normal life to places your ancestors thought was normal or even healthy. Many wonder how people could live under such stressful environments where you are here drinking tea watching the sun set to one of the hot deserted locations in Middle East. Things could be a little bit tougher if the air-conditioner didn't work as usual. You can hear the wind carry the ultimate humidity with the thought of living thousands of miles away from your home like Shams here.

Shams, a Keralite, has been working here in Silah for more than 4 years now. He has seen, heard and experienced things that city folks couldn't imagine happening to them or around them.

When the cold breeze hits you in winter here, you can't surely be done with the season and wait for some heat. But the day will not show you any pity as the sun doesn't just rise, rather pat on your shoulder to gaze at it's glazing hot cornea heating your flesh inside out for a perfectly boiled meal later - for others to tell as stories. That's the heat. Well let's talk about the wind and what it carries. You could be sipping coffee or tea outside watching the magma bastard set on the edge of the desert while the mirage glistening, and suddenly some dust and grains of sand fly into your tea making sure your evening is also ruined. Whatever you may be going through, the wind does not care. It will shower you with sand surrounding the entire village-town.

This is a location where the border towards Saudi Arabia lies in your eyesight. You can see huge container trucks waiting for the border patrol to give the clearance and go through the gates. The smell of fuel will taunt your nostrils all day even if you are not near them. This is area is not for people who want to work for a living. No, not at all. These people are living to work, hundreds and hundreds with their own issues to unburden as much as they can before killing themselves. Spoiler!

Anyway, Shams has given me some stories from this frypan of a town, where there is a single mosque and no Entertainment facilities put by the government or private sectors just to make these poor soul's lives a little relaxing.

We'll get in to them on the coming chapters...
