Social structure: Coyotes are social animals, living in large packs in order to hunt large prey and survive against other predators. Packs are led by an alpha pair. They are sometimes seen alone .

Preferred habitat: Lowlands, semi-deserts, savannas, shrublands, prairies, highlands, mountainous plateaus, temperate forests, alpine meadows, coastal grasslands, scrublands, tropical grasslands, river valleys, steppes, alpine grasslands, moorlands, boreal birch forests, bamboo forests, pine forests, wetlands, redwood forests, arctic and tundra regions, temperate woodlands, temperate rainforests and marshlands.

Bio: The coyote (Canis latrans) is a species of canine native to North America. They are smaller than their close relatives, the wolf, and slightly smaller than the closely related eastern wolves and red wolves. It fills much of the same ecological niche as the golden jackal does in Eurasia.
