You and Luz had just gotten done with helping the owl lady feed Hooty, it was.. questionable what he ate. Flies and newspapers with a hint of fairy pie crumbs. You shuddered and took your mind off the thought. On the path home you stumbled across a small kid. He looked lost.

"Oh.. are you okay? Where are your mom and dad honey?" You frowned and crouched down to seem less threatening.

She sniffled and hiccuped. Your heart ached. To be without parents.. you shudder at the incident of when you lost your mother.
"M-my Mommy and daddy.. sniff, were taken away by big scary gold man!" She sobs and rubs her eyes. Carrying a small frog-Wolf plushie.
While the little girl, anger bubbled in you.

You were walking, slightly stumbling actually because this little girl clung to you like gum on the bottom of a shoe. You don't blame her though, you cringe at the thought of losing a parent again. You shake the thought of your mind again and start walking to the emperors castle.
How the FUCK could hunter leave this child? God I swear if I see his fa-
Your train of thought stops abruptly as you get cut off by the golden guard, running for some reason?
"YOU! HUNTER!" Your anger runs hot again as you chase after him. you pick up the little girl and carry her on your back.

You finally caught up to hunter, and I guess whoever was chasing him stopped because the golden Guard stopped running. I guess he stopped at that old cottage from your last adventure with him.
You realized the little girl on your back had stopped crying and was dozing off. You smiled softly but remembered what you were actually going for.
Hunter was crouched next to a tree trying to catch his breath when you put down the little one next to a bush.
"HUNTER." You summon your palismen and aim it at him, summoning a deadly looking spell circle.
"Woah, Woah WOAH! What are you pointing that at ME for?" He jumps up and shouts in a protective stance.
"God, i hate your stupid voice. YOU KNOW WHAT." You whisper and semi shout to not wake up the sleeping child. Pointing at them to signal Hunter to keep quiet.
"You took those witches away from that poor baby for what? They had a CHILD hunter." You choke back small tears trying to stay strong.
"They were wild witches. They don't even DESERVE to have a child." Hunter blurts out stomping his weird looking staff.
You stood, shocked. You can't believe what he just said. Your tears pooling in your eyes.

10 years earlier
"Daddy, where's mommy?" You stood in your pajamas rubbing your eyes. A odd red stain on the floor.
Your dad stood sobbing on his knees. Clenching onto your mothers scarf. "Y/N! Oh.. Y/N. Your mom.. she's gone to a place better than here, okay?" Your dad choked his tears back as he stood up and held you.

You didn't understand till later that day that your mother.. she was petrified. Your classmates had sneaked a globe into school and had seen the emperors coven channel. Your mothers face. She was so scared. You stomach sank as the stone started to take the upper half of her body.

Present time
You ran into the cabin while wiping your tears, your palismen heading with you. You were left alone for 10 minutes or so, just sobbing? You can't believe he said that. The door slightly creaked open as Hunter came in holding the little girl, still sleeping away. You wipe your tears hurriedly and stand up. Having a grudgingly look on your face.
"I-I'm sorry,  I said that." Hunter says under his breath while setting down the child on a pile of soft blankets and pillows.

You sigh shakily and nod your head. You start walking around to explore more, you didn't get too last time since Luz had caused one of her shenanigans.
It actually.. pretty spacious. There's a piano in the corner. You remember playing with your mother. She taught you the day before.. she was gone.  You sit down and glide our fingers across the keys. Luz taught you this one song on her phone, something called Clair De Lune. It sounded heavenly, you started practicing again ever since that day.
You played it smoothly, your fingers in harmony with each other. You smile a little remembering all the small things with your kind, caring mother.
Hunter steps into the room, you can feel his gaze boring into you. You just take it as admiration. Suddenly, the little girl plops right next to you on the seat. You laugh a little as she try's to duet with you. Once you finish your perfect melody you stand up and face Hunter,
"Now, where are you keeping her parents?" You ask with a glare.
Hunter scoffs, "You always help where your not needed. Just follow me." He walks to a closet and gives you a emperors coven uniform.
"Give me a minute, I'll be in the restroom." Hunter walks off and shuts the door.

Small hunter POV
I sigh, "stupid Y/N." I take off his mask and looks in the mirror. Blowing air at my little hair whisp. "God my whole face, it's red? Am I sick?" I mutter before washing my scarred hands.. there's still some fresh ones. Ouch.

Hunter steps out of the bathroom.
"Are you ready?" You hold the little girl in your arms.
"I always am." Hunter says while walking past you.
"Where to, Goldie?" You smile and walk out the door.
