Two Years Later:
I was sitting in the garden at our house in South Hamptons, finally relaxing after a long week.
Then again the week does turn long if you're about seven months pregnant and you've got a charity event to plan.
I was currently watching Bucky chase Theo around on the beach with Grant and my dad.
"They're adorable." My mom says as she watches them chase each other.
I nodded as I rubbed my stomach, enjoying the feeling of the baby as it moved. We had decided that we didn't want to know what the baby's gender was, but my mom insisted on accompanying us to one of the doctor appointments and asked to be given the gender so she could throw us a gender reveal party.
I was only a few weeks away from giving birth and I was pretty uncomfortable with traveling back and forth so, Bucky decided to take a leave of absence for a while and leave my dad in charge of the company so we could come stay down in the beach house for a while.
"How are you feeling?" She asked.
I smiled, "Happy, and tired." I whispered.
She smiled as I sighed, "What did the doctor say?" She asked.
"That the baby could come any day now." I whispered as I rubbed my stomach.
She stiffened, "Really? Why didn't you two say anything?! You don't have anything prepared yet." She chastised.
I looked over and touched her arm. "Will you calm down? Bucky is trying not to freak out if he sees us freaking out he'll make me go back to the house and get into bed. He's driving me crazy!" I told her as I winced.
"You're right. Of course, you're right. So, let's change the subject. Do you know or think you know what you're having?" She asked.
I smiled. "I think I'm having a girl." I whispered as I continued rubbing my stomach.
She smiled as she looked at my stomach.
"Do you think you'll make it to Saturday?" She asked me.
I shrugged, "So, far the Braxton Hicks contractions have been sporadic. And they've been quite active today." I told her
"Can I feel?" She asks.
I nod, and move my shirt up so she could feel.
As soon as she places her hand on the side of my stomach she gasps as the baby kicks her hand.
"It's getting late, are you hungry?" She asks.
I look back as the boys and men are still playing before nodding.
As I move to get up I wince as I feel my stomach tighten slightly before untightening.
"Woah. Are you alright?" She asks.
I nod, "Just a Braxton Hicks contraction. I'm alright. They've been forty five minutes apart. Maybe an hour. I'm fine." I say as we begin making our way inside.
"Are you sure?" She asked as we walked.
I nodded, as I made my way to the kitchen. Hoping she didn't realize that I was beginning to feel the pain again, as I sat on one of the stools.
Leo was waiting for us as we walked in and gave me a concerned look as I sat down. "Ma'am you two ready for supper?" He asked.
I nodded frowning as my stomach tightened again.
I winced again, as I moved to stand up, only for a sharp pain to hit my back and pressure to form and I felt the familiar pop.
"Get Bucky! Now!" I told them as I grabbed onto the breakfast bar, and Leo rushed out of the room as my mom went to call the doctor.
