Abyssal love ~{Dainsleif oneshot}~

"Y/n, we need to start moving again before this storm hits us" dainsleif points out as his hand is over his eyes, head faced towards the sky. He turns looking to your slightly smaller figure that sat against a tree, his cape softly flying in the wind. "Y/n?" He asks again."Ah! Sorry I was just thinking!" You said as you stood up to face the blond in front of you.

Dainsleif let out a soft sigh before walking past you to grab a book and a small bag to carry extra clothes and mora. "Here, you carry the bag, I'll pack up the food we have left" he said softly. He was always gentle with his words, you figured that from the beginning of you both being traveling partners. You had both meet while working under Lumine/Aether in the abyss, but you both left together and have stayed that way ever since. Arguments were few, and dainsleif is good at cooking and telling weather, but it could also be because he was the twilight sword.

He always was positive, never tried to be negative, but the few times he was he'd keep it to himself. "Come on, let's find shelter" dainsleif said looking at you with soft eyes. "Got it" you smile, making him crack a smile, but it quickly faded. "Come, we're closer to mondstadt city than we are liyue harbor, we can see if we can reach spring vale before the storm hits. If we have more time then we could try and reach mondstadt city." He suggests. "Do what you think is best dainsleif."

He just nodded with a faint smile and started to walk Eastwards to Dawn Winery and Spring Vale. Everything in the world felt slow as the clouds starting rolling in from the North West of us, the critters of teyvat running and hiding for shelter while hilichurls stood near fires and tents. Slimes happily hopping around, and people running for cover and warmth in the dawn winery and to spring vale.

"Hurry, we can just make it to spring vale before this storm hits. Maybe someone will be kind enough to let us stay in a spare room." Dainsleif starts to walking up to a door, you hesitate to follow as it feels weird just asking if we could stay at a strangers house. "Excuse me, I'm sorry to ask, but by chance do you have a spare room me and my traveling partner could stay at for the night" dainsleif asked in a soft and sweet voice to a old lady that answered the door.
"I'm sorry I have family over at the moment, and I have no extra room. I'm deeply sorry" she apologized.

"It's perfectly fine, we understand. Please enjoy your time with your family" Dainsleif spoke before heading to the next house, and then the next, and the next, and the next until there was only one left. "Hey, let me try this one" you smile as you hold onto dainsleifs hands. The rain started to hit and it was now drizzling. He let out a soft smile, Hope filling his face. "I hope this works, if not I'll find something" he sighed.

Slowly walking towards the door, you hesitantly knocked on the door. A man opened the door, and behind him stood, who looked to be his daughter. "Hello, is everything alright?" The man asked. Dainsleif noticed your hesitation and put a hand on your shoulder, moving closer to the both of you. "I know we don't know you as we are travelers, but if there a possibility that you have an extra room me and my traveling partner may stay in" dainsleif asked in his calm voice. "Oh, sure we don't need you both getting sick" the man said.

"Hey! But they're strangers! They could rob you! This is why you shouldn't get drunk!" The daughter cried. You and the man let out a laugh. "I'm sorry about my daughter. Diona dear their fine" the father reassured as he lead us down the hallway. "This is where you may stay. Don't be worried and ask if you need something." The man said. "Thank you kind sir" you smiled as dainsleif opened the door behind you. "We should rest, we have a long journey tomorrow y/n" dainsleif said calmly. "Mk" you smiled as you headed in behind him.

Dainsleif let out a long sigh as he shut the door. "Is everything ok?" You asked the taller man. "Huh? Oh Uhm... ya I should be" he said as he took off his cape and placed it on a chair, then removing his shoes. You looked towards the blond haired man, slowly moving towards him. "I should be asking if you're ok now" dainsleif said. "Your eye" you said. "Hmm? Yee what about it?" He asked. Your hand started to move towards the mask that covered half of dainsleifs face, gliding your fingers over it softly. "Why do you wear it?" You asked bluntly as your hand rested on dains cheek.

Dainsleif stifled a breath as a faint blush could be seen appear on his face. "I uhm... just a scar" he stuttered. "May I see?" You asked. Dainsleifs eyes went wide before he took you hand away from his face. "Mind your own business" he said harshly, making you flinch and retract your hand quickly. "I... y/n my love I'm-"

"What did you call me?" You said flustered. "Shit" the tall blond turned away, running a hand through his hair as he paced and thought. "Sorry" he said silently. "Wait, no, don't be dainslief" you said softly as you walked closer to him. "If you feel like that about me, tell me" you smiled, making dainsleif feel at ease. He smiled, but soon looked away again with a frown. "I don't want you corrupted and hurt by me" he said as he sat in a chair holding his head as if he had a headache.

"Dainsleif?" You walked closer again. "Mhm" he replied without looking up. Your hand reached for his face to make him look at you. "I love you, I really do... but don't let this change things between us" you said. A slight pink tint appeared on dainslief's face as his hand reached for your and held it. "I love you too, that's comforting to hear" he smiled as his other hand leaned your chin down so he could kiss your cheek, making you flush red. Dainsleif let out a soft laugh as he looked back at you.

"Now my love" he said standing up and picking you up swiftly, making you squeal and laugh. "We need our sleep for tomorrows journey" he said setting you down on the bed and kissing your forehead, then cheek, and hand and then resting his head on your neck and leaving a soft sweet kiss making you even more flustered. "I've waited far too long to hold you, may I?" He asked politely and gently. "I uhm... ya that's fine" you smiled. "Ok" he spoke softly as he turned over and had you laying on your side to face him as he sat his chin on the top of your head. "Sleep well my love"
