Chapter 2: Unity?

I wake up early that next morning, put on my armor and gathered my gear. I though of contingency plans for the possible betrayal of the college of hero's so I ordered a talon of dragon knights to stay high in the sky near the gate for an extraction guard of sorts.

After arranging the talon, I head to the dragon pens. My beautiful pet was laying in its pen, tired but awake.

Stein: "come on friend, we need to go."

The dragon nods, then proceeds to the entrance of the pen to get the saddle and gear on. Elias and Joesph arrived a bit later to get the manticores assigned to them.

Elias: " you got a talon on standby? Expecting trouble?"

Joseph: "what do you mean?"

     Elias knows too much some times, his Tzeench sorcery shows him a lot of knowledge... dammit.

Stein: "yes. I set up a talon for things just in case they go sour. Head to you manticores and then let's go.

Elias and Joseph: "yessir."

     As they head over to the pens to get their mounts, I wonder if the college changed at all. As I finish putting on the armor and saddle, I mount my steed and head to an cave opening. Elias and Joseph on theirs, we take to the sky's towards the college.

     It is early morning and will be about an hour before they reach the meeting spot with Azeal.

Elias: " what are we to expect when we get there?"

Stein: "We are to meet with Azeal and act as ambassadors. Nothing crazy but he knows I have knowledge of the college."

Joseph: "so he is using you as an insider and bodyguard. To avoid tricks or lies."

Stein: "exactly."

     As we get around the halfway mark, my talon approach from above with three dragon riders. Smaller than my dragon but my dragon riders are of the elite and know how to fight, we nod to each other and they head back up into the clouds to conceal themselves.

     As we reach the location, we see a large army... one with the other four chaos lords... they are acting as a guard to him just in case anything happened to him in the castle. We land near the front where he is there waiting with his elite guard outside the gatehouse talking to the head of the college.

Azeal: "Lord stein... good to see you!"

Stein: "likewise, how's the talks doing?"

Azeal: "Haven't  started yet, gather your men and then follow me, the rest of the lords are to remain outside while we talk."

Stein: "alright, take the lead."

     Me, Elias, and joesph all dismount and head into the gatehouse with Azeal and his Chosen bodyguards. As Azeal and the head continue to talk about the possible treaty they have, I study the gatehouse again. A three layered entrance with three gates as protection and a kill zone for the archers on the walls.

Azeal: "lord stein, Havnt talked to you in a while. How has your travels been?"

Stein: " Safe and sound, the castle improved a lot since your last visit."

Azeal: "really? I'll need to visit one of these days. You know why you are truly here right?"

Stein: "not exactly."

Azeal: "you are my right hand man, my successor of sorts... you are here to be my second in command."

     Joseph knows what this means... this is an act of war on the castle which stein knows all to well.
