After they had gone back to Sam's apartment to drop him off, they had to save him from the fire that took away Jess and that made Sam want to kill the demon more than before because Jess died the same way as his mother.

They were sitting in the Impala driving, Adryan was reading a book but just as she turned the page Sam jerked awake, he blinked a couple of times and then rubbed his eyes making Dean look over at him concerned.

"You okay?" Dean asked, making Sam glance at him before glancing at Adryan in the back but looking away a moment later.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Sam answered and Dean nodded in response, not entirely believing him.

"Did you have another nightmare?" Adryan asked, making Sam clear his throat uncomfortable.

"You wanna drive for a while?" Dean questioned as Sam laughed in response.

"Dean, your whole life you never once asked me that." Sam stated.

"Can I drive?" Adryan asked with a big smile, making Dean glance back at her but chose to ignore her for a moment and focus back on his brother.

"Just thought you might want to. Never mind." Dean replied before talking to Adryan, glancing at her every moment. "Adryan you... drive like shit" making Sam laugh at the two of them because Adryan hit Dean on the back of his head.

"Look, guys, I know you're worried about me." Sam said. "I get it, and thank you, but I'm perfectly okay."

"Mm-hm." Dean hummed before Sam grabs the map Adryan holds out to him.

"All right, where are we?" Sam asks.

"Outside Grand Junction" Adryan and Dean said at the same time making Dean glare at her.

Sam folds down the map, which is of Colorado and has a large red X labeled 35-111.

"You know what?" Sam said. "Maybe we shouldn't have left Stanford so soon."

"Sam, we dug around there for a week. We came up with nothing. If you wanna find the thing that killed Jessica—" Dean started to say but was interrupted by Sam.

"We gotta find Dad first," Sam stated.

"Dad disappearing—" Dean started to say before stopping for a moment but started again. "—and this thing showing up again after twenty years, it's no coincidence."

"John will have answers." Adryan remarked.

"Dad will know what to do" Dean stated more to himself than his brother.

"It's weird, man." Sam said confused. "These coordinates he left us. This Blackwater Ridge."

"What about it?" Dean asked.

"Why is that weird?" Adryan questions, looking at Sam and leans her head on the seat in the middle of the brothers.

"There's nothing there. It's just wood." Sam replied putting down the map. "Why is he sending us to the middle of nowhere?"

They drive past the National Forest sign that says, "Welcome to LOST CREEK COLORADO National Forest".

RANGER STATION

Sam and Adryan were standing to the side and were looking at a 3D map of the national forest, but both of them were paying more attention to the ridge labeled "Blackwater Ridge", while Dean was looking around at the decoration.

"It's cut off by these canyons here, rough terrain, dense forest, abandoned silver and gold mines all over the place." Sam started pointing at the map.

"Dude, check out the size of this freaking bear." Dean remarked, amazed.

"Wow, I really thought it was a duck" Adryan deadpanned looking at Dean while his smile disappeared from his face and Sam hid his smile with his hand.

"Shut up" Dean mumbled before a forest ranger came walking into the room, startling the three of them.

"You boys and girl aren't planning on going out near Blackwater Ridge by any chance." The forest ranger asked.

"Oh,no, sir, we're environmental study majors from UC Boulder, just working on a paper" Sam explained with a small laugh, while Adryan gives him a small smile and Dean grins and raises a fist in the air.

"Recycle, man". Dean exclaimed.

"Shut up" Adryans whispered to Dean lowly and with a hard tone.

"Bull." The Forest Ranger remarked, making Sam and Adryan's eyes flicker to Dean, who doesn't move an inch. "You're friends with that Haley girl, right?"

"Yes. Yes, we are, Ranger—" Dean started to say before looking at the ranger's name tag on his shirt. "Wilkinson."

"Well I will tell you exactly what we told her. Her brother filled out a backcountry permit saying he wouldn't be back from Blackwater until the twenty-fourth, so it's not exactly a missing persons now, is it?" Ranger Wilkinson remarked, making Dean shake his head.

""You tell that girl to quit worrying, I'm sure her brother's just fine." Ranger Wilkinson said.

"We will. Well that Haley girl's quite a pistol, huh?" Dean remarked with a small smirk.

"That is putting it mildly." Ranger Wilkinson stated.

"Actually you know what would help is if we could show her a copy of that backcountry permit. You know, so she could see her brother's return date." Adryan said with a small smile making the Ranger eye her while Dean raises his eyebrows next to her.

RANGER STATION - OUTSIDE

They leave the ranger station. While Dean takes the piece of paper out of Adryan's hand laughing.

"What, are you cruising for a hookup or something?" Sam remarked not feeling all to happy about his brother's plans and Adryan sharing the same thoughts.

"What do you mean?" Dean asks, looking at his brother.

"The coordinates point to Blackwater Ridge, so what are we waiting for? Let's just go find Dad. I mean, why even talk to this girl?" Sam asked while they walked to the opposite sides of the Impala.

"I don't know, maybe we should know what we're walking into before we actually walk into it?" Dean said, looking at his brother like he was stupid, and Adryan looked between the brother's not wanting to get between their petty feud.

Sam paused and looked at his brother before saying "What?"

"Since when are you all shoot first, ask questions later, anyway?" Dean remarked looking at his brother.

"Since now." Sam stated before turning away and getting into the car.

"Really?" Dean murmured.

"And for the record Dean, we all know that you want to get laid. Don't act stupid" Adryan remarked before getting into the car.

Dean sighs to himself and shaked his head before he also gets in the car and they drive to the address on the paper.
