Sugawara Koushi x Sawamura Daichi
(post time skip)
3rd person POV:
One morning on a sunny day a normal school teacher turns on the news as he goes about his morning routine.
News casting:
"And for today's breaking news a cop, Sawamura Daichi, was shot and injured while on patrol last night and was rushed to Miyagi General Hospital where he was rushed into surgery"
As they switch to interviewing the staff there is a nurse that briefly describes his condition but doesn't give any more detail other than he's resting.
Suga's POV:
Was making my coffee humming softly when I turned my head and caught part of what the nurse said.
"-mura? They talking about Daichi? No... they can't.."
I mumbled to myself and pulled out my laptop to look more into it, catching the name and instantly picking up my phone and calling the school's principal to tell them I won't be coming in today and I'll need a sub to fill in for me.
Daichi's POV:
Laying in this bed I stare up at the ceiling as I had heard the interview going on outside my room and the hint of disbelief coming from the nurse as she made a comment about how sure I am about getting better. But what she doesn't understand is that I HAVE to get better... I have to be able to walk again, to run, to train... without my job who am i? Without my legs, who am i?
< knock knock >
I get pulled from my thoughts by the sound of the nurse knocking on the door before walking back in to give me my morning dose of painkillers and change the iv bag that hangs next to my bed.
"Mr. Sawamura.. your room has been awfully quiet.."
The nurse says she mills about the room and writes on the clipboard that rests on her hip half the time.
"Mhm"
I hum in acknowledgement. Not wanting to be rude I follow it up with a lighthearted statement.
"Don't want to make my friends worry too much plus they'll act more like mother hens then i'd like.. And id already would like to be out of here"
The nurse stops and looks at me sadly.
"But wouldn't they get even more worried when they hear about the incident over the tv?"
"Yeah, maybe.."
I respond and look back up at the ceiling and let my eyes drift closed as I hear her walk out the room.
Suga's POV:
After having gotten off the phone with the principal I hop in my car and drive to the hospital turning on some music to try and calm my nerves that seem to be all over the place since the moment I saw the news casting. A quick drive later I pull up into the parking bay and rush inside and up to the check in desk where I catch the attention of the nurse on duty.
"Excuse me.."
"Yes?"
She responds looking up from her computer where I can obviously tell she's reading non-work appropriate web stories.
