SCARLETTS POV
I woke to more growls. Shit, they must have found me! My eyes shot open and looked around, I tried to get up but I collapsed and started to get teary eyed. I'm going to die, holy carp I'm going to die in the middle of a fucking forest, I'm going to die a mother fucking rouge!!!
I couldn't see anyone around, but I heard growls. I whined, trying to let them know to be merciful. Then, low and behold, a large brown wolf with two other grey smaller ones emerged from the woods. I knew none were alphas, but I assumed the brown one was the beta. I whined and bowed my head in respect, and immediately his growling stopped. He cocked his head to the side and studied Me, then he walked over behind a tree and shifted, coming out with a pair of basketball shorts on, with a large grey shirt in hand.
He had black hair and was really tall. His eyes seemed to sparkle with a mossy green, and had a six pack on his tanned skin.
Wow. I thought.
"Shift." He threw the shirt down the my snout.
"Go behind the tree over there and shift." He commanded. I snatched the shirt in my mouth, carful not to tear it, and tried to stand. I got my two front paws up before I cried out in pain and collapsed. The betas eyes widened when he looked at my back and turned to the two smaller wolves."Go tell Alpha Asher about this rouge, and tell him to meet us in the hospital wing. He shut off his mind link to me, go, hurry!" He shouted at them. They both scurried away to who I assumed was alpha Asher.
The beta inched closer to me until he touched his hand to my head. I whined, my eyes were probably filled with fear.
"I won't hurt you, I just don't know why I'm not being harsh. Maybe it's because you are a girl. Do you know how many girl rouges there are? Virtually zero. I've never seen one until you." I didn't know that, I didn't care right now. I just wanted to get away and RUN.
"Look, I'm Blake. I'm the beta of the Blood Moon Pack." I whined and tried to inch away. Where had all my confidence gone? Well it disappeared when I heard the pack name. The alpha hated rouges. Asher's parents died by the hands of them, and he tends to kill every one he meets. I'm dead, I'm so so so dead.
"Shh, stop. Asher isn't that bad, I know that you probably heard a lot, but you remind me of someone. Someone we lost along time ago, I don't think he could kill you. Well," he scratched behind his ear "At least not viciously." Great. That makes me feel so fucking much better.
"I need you to shift. I will cover you up, but I can't carry you in your wolf form. Please, you need to try." I looked into his eyes, he looked sincere. I bobbed my head and I used the last of my energy, and did something I hadn't done in a long time. I cried out as my wounds stretched and changed, but in the end, I lay on my front on the ground a human again.
I panted and Blake moved my blonde hair out of my face. Thankfully I was laying on my front or he would have seen way too much.
"Wow, I thought you had blue eyes in your wolf form, but I have never seen someone with this color."
"Thanks." I breathed, my throat sounded scratchy and rough, but I haven't heard it in so long I was surprised and didn't recognize it.
"Here." He helped me put a grey shirt on over myself, and it stung against my wounds. Tears ran down my face and I scolded myself for not being strong enough.
"We need to get you to the hospital." He picked me up and cradled my small stature in his arms. I was only 5'3 and he was about 6' foot. Most wolves were tall, me? Nope. Not at all. I was skinny though, I used to be a healthy skinny, now I was a prime example of malnutrition. I could count all my ribs and see my hip bones.
Blake rushed through the forest and was trying to keep me awake.
"What's your name?"
"Scarlett."
"How long have you been a rouge?"
"I don't know. When was May 8th?"
"Three months ago... Why?"
"My pack, it was killed off on May 8th. I've been running." I whispered, at this Blake looked down at me with shock and then confusion.
"You've been running for three months? How did you even stay alive?"
"I'm fast," I coughed "but I guess not fast enough today."
"Why didn't you join another pack?" I closed my eyes. I knew the answer, but I hated to admit it.
"It was my fault." I whispered into his chest. We ran into a large building which I assumed was a pack house.
"LEAH!!!" Blake yelled as he bragged into a room that looked like a mini hospital.
"Help, please." A middle aged woman with brown hair and large brown eyes rushed over and Blake set me on a bed. I winced as the cuts on my back burned."Her back is cut up pretty badly, her leg has been bit also."
"Ok, sweetie, I need you to roll onto your stomach, I'm going to give some medicine that will make you sleep, but you will wake up, I promise "
"No." I shook my head as she got out a syringe "no! Sleeping makes me vulnerable, I'm going to die." Blake stroked my hair.
"Shh. You'll be ok. Shh I promise." I grabbed his hand.
"Please, Blake don't let me die. Promise me you wont let me die." I pleaded him and I saw tears in his eyes. His face showed how broken he was about this.
"You remind me so much of my sister. She was Asher's and I s best friend. I promise you Scarlett I will do everything I can to not let you die."
I felt a prick in my arm and everything went black.
