If he died out here, then he'd be dead. All because he'd been stupid enough to think that his best friend wouldn't try to kill him. He closed his eyes tightly and squeezed them shut, willing himself not to cry. He had no one left. It was just him and whoever this person was currently dragging him along. And he wasn't going to give anyone the satisfaction of knowing how afraid he really was.
They continued along the path for what seemed like a long time until Sinox heard voices. One belonged to his friend and another sounded vaguely familiar, but he couldn't quite place it. Whoever they were, they must have known where they were headed since they didn't speak a word. In fact, the one who was apparently talking didn't seem to know who they were either. So far, no one seemed to know they were there, and it was unlikely that any of those walking by them would see them.
As soon as his captor stopped moving, he took the opportunity to pull away from him and look in the direction where the voices were coming from. He immediately wished he hadn't, though. Before he could do anything else, nightshade raised a hand and slapped him across the face with all his might. Sinox yelped from the blow but made no attempt to resist. fed did a double take and narrowed his eyes, looking him up and down suspiciously.
"Where have you been?" nightshade growled. "We waited for hours."
Sinox blinked slowly. "I...don't remember. I think my head might have hit something. I don't know, honestly," he replied honestly, raising a hand and rubbing the spot where nightshade had struck him. "But if you're looking for me, I can't say I haven't missed you." nightshade glared again and Sinox sighed. "Look, I know I deserve it, okay? I fucked up. Big time.
