"We want to go see Uncle George's haunted house," Albus said. "Alright, we have to ask your mother before I can say yes or no," Harry said. "You're scared of mom, aren't you?" James said. "Daddy faced Voldemort, the scariest dark wizard there ever was, he isn't scared of mommy," Lily said. "I'm not afraid of your mother but we do need to talk to her about things like this because we are a team," Harry said. Ginny came in through the front door.
Lily went running to the front door. "Mommy," Lily said. "There's my little Lilypad," Ginny said. Harry and the boys came up to her. "Mommy," Albus said. "Mom," James said. "There are my boys," Ginny said. "Did you enjoy your day off with the kids?" Ginny asked Harry. "Yes, I did, but Lilypad didn't take her nap today," Harry said. "Lily Luna," Ginny said, scolding Lily. They all went to the living room. "The boys wanted to go to the joke shop in Diagon Alley. I told them that you and I have to decide together, and we would tell them together," Harry said. "I saw the shop, I think it might be a little too scary for the kids," Ginny said. "We won't be scared mom," James said. "Yeah, we're big kids now," Albus said. "Yeah," Lily said. "Well, come on then," Ginny said. The kids went to put their costumes on quickly and they went to Diagon Alley. Lily was attached to Harry because she didn't have a nap earlier that afternoon.
Harry put Lily down to get her to walk next to him. She rubbed her eyes as she cried. "Lily, I know you're tired. I told you that you should have taken your nap when I told you to earlier," Harry said when he knelt down next to her. She tried to get him to pick her up. "Lily, you are going to walk," Harry said. "Mommy," Lily said. "Come here, Lily," Ginny said. Ginny checked Lily's pants. "I'll be right back, I've got to change Lily's pants," Ginny said, taking Lily to find a nearby bathroom. Ron came over to Harry when Ginny walked away with Lily.
Harry and Ginny soon got home from Diagon Alley. Lily was scared from the whole evening at the joke shop. She wouldn't let go of Harry. Harry got her ready for bed while Ginny got the boys ready for bed. He held her hand until she fell asleep in bed by herself. Ginny came into the room to see Harry asleep on the floor next to Lily's bed and holding Lily's little hand.
She woke Harry up without waking Lily. "Lily's finally asleep," Ginny whispered, gesturing toward Lily, who was peacefully asleep in her bed tucked under the blankets. Harry got up and they left the room. Lily remained asleep in her bed by herself. They went into their bedroom for the night. Their night alone didn't last long. Lily came into their room scared.
"Lily, why are you out of bed?" Harry said. "I'm scared daddy, I had a bad dream," Lily said. "Come on, let's get you back to your bed," he said. He got up from the bed and took Lily to her bedroom. He held her hand as they walked to her room. He put her back to bed. He kissed her forehead as he tucked her back into bed for the rest of the night. He smiled as she fell peacefully asleep. "I love you Lilypad," he said softly before walking out of the room.
