The trip back to London took much longer than you would've liked. But soon you arrived at your front door. It didn't feel much like home though. You'd been traveling for years, only actually staying in this house for a few weeks at a time before leaving to go somewhere else again. "I'm back!" You yelled after entering the house.
"Y/n!" Jared rushed to meet you at the door. "You're finally home! There's so much to talk about."
"Indeed. Allow me some rest though first. The trip was long and I have no energy for conversation at the moment." He nodded in understanding as you began to make your way upstairs. You caught yourself wishing you were back at the island and quickly shook the thought from your mind. This was your home.

When you woke up it was dark out, and Jared was laying in bed beside you, but he wasn't asleep. When you turned your head to look at him you found him staring right back. He smiled at you. "Morning." You said. "What time is it?"
"Three in the morning." She said simply.
"Why are you still awake?"
"I was excited to talk to you about something." His smiled grew wider as you sat up and stretched. You hummed and waited for him to continue. "What do you think about having kids?" You froze mid stretch.
"I suppose it never crossed my mind.." You muttered, though you thought about it often. You'd be willing to have children, yes. Just not with him. You thought of Alma and her children. You certainly wouldn't mind helping her take care of them. But that was different.
"You're thinking of her again." You looked over at your husband confused. "She hasn't really left your mind since you got here." He sounded sad.
"I told you to stay out of my mind." You got out of bed and started walked across the room to your wardrobe.
"But you have different motives for coming home rather than seeing me as you led me to believe in your letter. And I think it's important that we talk about this" He stood as well, walking over to his own dresser.
"Of course it's important but I would've brought it up on my own. You don't have to search through my mind to find out everything." You both changed into day clothes, your backs to each other.
"Forgive me for wanting to know where my wife has been for the past month and a half. You don't exactly come home often. I want to make sure you're safe." You grimaced at him calling you that.
"I've been fine. And if you've already seen it I suppose I should just get to the point. I want a divorce." He sighed, though clearly expected this.
"Of course you do. You really should've said so sooner. You've been unhappy for years. I believe that's why you spend so much time away."
"Probably." You muttered bitterly. "I'm moving away too. As soon as the paperwork is through. Could you pick it up while I visit my fathers? I want to inform them of my decision before you feel the need to."
"Okay I can get it whilst off doing other chores."
"Thank you." Was all you said before leaving. You went to visit your dads and updated them on everything. Though you failed to mention Alma or her children, instead saying a new friend has invited you to live with them. Which wasn't completely untrue. You promised you would continue to write to them after leaving and occasionally visit. They were happy to hear that you wouldn't be gone forever. Though if you were them, you wouldn't believe yourself. They'd promised to be there to see you off but you still had a few weeks before you could leave. Sadly paperwork tended to take a long time to go through.
Though you were excited to find you'd gotten a few letters the next day. You eagerly opened the first of four to read it's contents.
Y/n,
I hope this letter finds you well. Not really, I can't seem to care. I'm only writing this because The Bird said it would be good English practice. I for one hope you don't return. But sadly you have to, and if you don't I'll come to London and drag you back myself. Only because everyone else misses you. And when you do return, because obviously you will, would you bring me some vital organs? I could do with a few. Miss Peregrine has been more unbearable lately. I'm pretty sure you were the one keeping her from going ballistic on us.
-Enoch
You laughed at the boys letter, he'd never much cared for you but you found it amusing he bothered to write you, even if Alma made him. You doubted you'd be able to bring him back an organs but you supposed you could try. You grabbed the next letter, preparing for worse as you opened it.
Dear Y/n,
I hope you plan on coming back as soon as possible. As much as Miss Peregrine refuses to admit it, it's clear as day that she misses you very much. Plus I'd like to speak with you myself about a number of things. I'd never left the island, and I'd enjoy hearing some stories about London and the many places you've visited in your travels.
Yours, Emma
The third of fourth letter looked a lot more like chicken scratch than letters, but it was legible, if just barley.
Dear Y/n,
Forgive my poor writing, I've always sort of struggled with it. Miss P is trying to help me fix my handwriting and told me I ought to try practicing it by sending a letter to you. She's rather good at reading sloppy handwriting, I can only hope you are as well. Fiona doesn't wish to bother you by writing and asking for favors so I will for her. Would you mind being back a few seeds of plants that aren't native to Wales? She's probably grown every plant there is to grow on this island, I'm certain she'd appreciate something new. Maybe a flower of some kind of you could manage that.
Sincerely, Hugh
You opened that last letter with a smile. You'd definitely make sure to bring multiple seed packets back. In fact you'd probably go shopping and buy something for everyone. When you saw who the next letter was from your smile widened still.
Dearest Y/n,
I do hope you plan on returning soon. I miss you dearly, as do the children. I informed the older ones that you'd appreciate letters from them. I was happy to see the multiple wrote to you. And Enoch cares about you, despite whatever his letter might say. He wouldn't allow me to read it. More letters will be coming your way within the next few days. I hope all is well. Please write back when you can to update me on what's happening with you in London. Stay safe.
Love, Alma
Your eyes lingered on the last two lines of the page. Love, Alma. Love? No, clear your mind Y/n. She didn't mean it like that you fool.

I'm so sorry I haven't been updating. School has been a lot recently. Speaking of which, I have a couple Civics assignments that I'm not looking forward too
