Samuel

I'm so stupid. I shouldn't have done that, but I did, and the only thing I do now is miss him. My life used to be so boring and annoying. But once I met him, everything changed. It was the funniest thing ever to spend time with him without anyone knowing. It was our secret, and no one knew.

But everything changed again, but to the worst this time. He came out to everyone. His parents would beat him every day, he would get bullied at school, and everyone treated him like shit.

I wanted to be there for him, but the closer I got, the more other people would say something. Before, we would just have been seen as friends, but now that everyone knew he was gay, people started thinking that we were dating. They weren't wrong, but I didn't say anything. I just got more and more away from him.

I was sure I loved him so I would see him in secret just to make sure he was okay. "I'm here for you, but i just need time to tell people." I would say every time we saw each other.

"If you love me so much, then why are you embarrassed to even look at me in public!?!?" I remember him saying. "Well, it is not my fault. I don't want people to see me as a stupid gay!" Those words were the last straw for him.

THOSE STUPID WORDS. THAT WEREN'T MINES IT WAS HIS.

My stupid older brother. He found out I was seeing him in secret. He had actually started the rumors that pushed Emilio to come out. The night before the conversation that ruined my life, my brother had confronted me about it.

I did the stupidest things ever by trusting him. I told him that I actually loved him, that I was planning to actually come out as gay and tell everyone we were dating.

"DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT! I DON'T WANT TO BE SEEN AS THE OLDER BROTHER OF A FREAK!!" Is what he said that day and is what I told Emilio the next day.

If only I hadn't said those words, you would still be alive. Emilio Caster, the love of my pathetic life.
