Waking up this morning, I caught a glare from my window, I of course forgot to close my curtains last night. Really wish they could just close on there own.
"Carly, wake up and close the curtains." no answer, I try to hit her but she's not where she was last night. I look around the room and see that I'm alone. My door is cracked open, now I know where she went, I thought.
I get up from my comfortable bed and walk out of my room and follow the hall of pictures towards the stairs. I walk passed my family picture we took last christmas and see how much all of us have changed.
My hair grew a little bit and my face looked slimmer, but of course I am the same height since last year. Christopher is like a whole foot taller and John is two inches shorter than Chris and really close to being taller than my dad, but at least me and mom are the same height.
I finally reach the bottom of the steps, and turn to go into the kitchen where this amazing smell hits me. Either mom or Carly are making food, Mom is an amazing chief and so is Carly. Mom practically taught Carly how to cook, I've told both of them a billion times to open a bakery or restaurant and make a living out of what they both love doing, because they both don't have jobs and I think it would be a great idea. But as always mom says that she is perfectly happy being a house wife and doing chores and other stuff house wife's do. Although Carly had consider the idea a few times but just shakes her head and says that a business degree is a better option.
I walk in and there's mom and Carly chatting away about the latest cooking show or some recipe they both want to try. I sit next to Carly while mom hands me a plate of eggs, bacon, and, a cinnamon bagel with cinnamon butter; I love cinnamon, if you can't tell. "So girls what's the plan for today? " Well Mrs. Scott, I really need some more cloths, for my wardrobe and a new bed spread to go into my room." "Well I guess the mall it is, hurry and finish so we can get going!" Mom said while Carly and I look at each other. "Umm Mom me and Carly were kinda just going to go by ourself and just catch up with you later when we got done.." She looked disappointed at first then dad came in and gave her a big hug and kiss. "What's up girls?" "Nothing Daddy, me and Carly were just going to go the mall and hang out for a bit." "Sounds great, me and mom get the whole house to ourselfs." My dad wiggles his eyebrows at us, making mom laugh, me and Carly gag. Then both of brothers walk in, Christopher was dressed but the John was not dressed yet. "Well nice of you two to join us this morning." My dad said while passing a plate to John"Yeah whatever dad, give me a break I haven't slept in, since high school." "Don't get use to it, won't last long." Christopher said while giving John a smirk. "And on that note me and Carly are going to get ready and head out bye." We start to walk away when John hollers at us to wait "Where are two going today? " "The mall where else?" John ignores my smart alec comments and continues "Cool I need to head that way anyways I'll be ready in 20." I groan, and roll my head back. "Fine just hurry up."
After getting dressed we all hopped in John's car and drove off towards the mall. I can't stand my brothers driving, he drives like he's in some drag race. "Slow down or you won't being driving anymore. " I tell him and he just rolls his and slows down a bit because he knows I'm serious. "Alright when we get there I will be hanging out with friends while you two go do what you girls do." " Yeah OK and who are hanging out with, may I remind you that most of your friends are in college." " Yeah some are but not my guys." I didn't hear what he said after that cause when he's says Guys he means his closes best friends, who Gaberial Wright belongs to and is the guy I've had a crush on since the 8th grade. He's perfect with short brown hair and hazel eyes that have just the right mix between green and brown also his tan musclur body that is just the right amount of muscle to wear he's not bulky and huge like a body builder. But no one knows that I have a crush on him except my best friend Carly who is in the car with me hearing my brothers plan to hang out with them. She keeps looking over at me to make sure I heared what he said and of course I heared what he said, I mean I'm not deaf. "So we good on the plan or do I need to go over it again?" I roll my eyes "I'm not two I know what the plan is." "Alright say what the plan is little sis." I am really regretting letting him come along. "Alright I don't know, what's the plan big bro?" "You two go off and do whatever it is y'all do then at 4 come back to the food court and grab my keys so you two can leave or just stay I don't care but leave around 5 for the dinner tonight." " Wait what about you, who is giving you a ride to the dinner?" Carly asked "I am getting a ride from Gabriel sine it's at his house." "Fine whatever what time again?" "Four to pick up the keys and 5 to head to the dinner. Got it? " " Yeah I got it." Man I totally forgot that today was Sunday, for those of you who are confused let me explain. Gabriel's family and mine have been really close since forever and a few years ago my dad saved Mr. Wrights life. So we have this tradition were both families come togther and have dinner to catch up on what that last week was like or if one of the family members are deployed then we discusse what they missed over the month or months, depending on how ever long they been gone. It's a fun time with both families and it's a nervous time for me since I have a crush on Gab, but that doesn't stop me from talking to him and it's not like long conversation, just the occasional hi, how are you, how's life, etc.
Anyways arriving at the mall John left us to go look for his group, while Carly and I go look for our group as well. We arrive at the food court to find Thomas and Madison sitting together sharing a pizza (oh yeah there dating) they are such cute couple, I love see them together. Madison is the first one to notice us and runs to give Carly a big hug. "Finally your out of that hell whole and out in the really world." I had texted Madison last night about the moving out news and how we needed to go shopping and she was all excited and asked if she could come and bring Thomas as well. Of course I said yes, Thomas has been apart of our group long before he asked Madison out. Our group consists of me, Carly, Madison, Thomas, and Jamie. Jamie was the youngest of the group being only 16, I first met Jamie at the park where we lived and master found out that she lives across the street from me but she moved away at the end of that year, but it wasn't far just a couple blocks away. Me and Carly were the next youngest at 17 and then it was Madison and Thomas being the older people in the group at 18. We all go to Hilton high school and live in the same neighborhood.
Walking around the mall we went to few of the big stores like Dillars, Macey, JC pennies, and others, we found some bed sheets, pillows, and other stuff for Carly's light blue and gray themed room. Then we went to the clothing stores and found her a whole new wardrobe, that I know she will love and I might have to bower a few things here and there. After a few hours of walking around all of us became hungry and decide to head to the food court and grab some lunch.
Walking into the food court I saw John and his friends hanging out and talking. I saw Gabriel the second my eyes left John, I felt Carly elbow me in the side and I just roll my eyes and find a spot away from them. I finally found spot far enough away from them and sit down saving everyone a spot. "Hey Ad want me to grab you something from chick-fil-a?" Carly asked "Yeah thanks Cars" we have really weird nicknames for each other. After Carly leaves to go get in line Maddie and Thomas says they have to leave and I say goodbye and told them to text me later, while siting alone looking at my phone, I feel my shoulder tapped and look up to see Gabriel standing in front of me with John's keys in his left hand. "Hey John said you need these and I just want to bring them over before we left. " he said with that brilliant smile that made my heart skip a beat"Oh thanks Gabriel." "No problem, so your coming tonight right?" "Yeah of course, I mean I wouldn't want to miss our family dinners." "Alright good I'll see you then bye Adeline." He gave me wink and I finally let go of the breath I didn't know I was holding. "Bye Gab!" As he walks away Carly walks up with a big smile on her face. "So what did I miss?" "Nothing he just handed me the keys and said he would see me tonight at the dinner." "Oh man I thought he was going to admit his undying love for you." "Yeah whatever did get my chicken or not." "Yes I got it, jeez you need to chill about the chicken." "You know me and Chick-fil-a."
Once we were done we head to the parking lot and drove back home. Carly got a text from my mom saying go over to the Wrights house instead of going home. We arrived just in time for dinner to be served.
"Hey their you two are, come on in." "Thanks Mr. Mark." "No problem Adeline just head towards the kitchen your moms waiting on you two." "OK thanks." Walking into Mrs. Wrights kitchen is like walking into my moms at home. Both of them love cooking and spend most of their time together baking or drinking wine and talking about cooking. "Hey girl's come on and help us set the patio outside." Me and Carly go outside and set the table up for 11 of us, it used to be 12 in until Gabriel's older brother Gideon got Married and so they living in Texas with his wife's family until they get a place to live in. After seting the table, mom, Mrs. Wright, and Carly start to bring to food out while I run and grab the boys for dinner. Thank goodness there all in the living room watching the football game "Hey pause game foods done." "Shhhhh Adeline we are watching the game." Christopher tells me "Fine more key lime pie for me." All heads turned and dashed for the door. There are only two things that can put Football game on pause, that's thanksgiving and moms key lime pie. After everyone is seated and has grabbed all the food they wanted Dad stands "So here we are again another Sunday with each other and may there be so many more to come..." My dad continues on with his Sunday speech and towards the end John stands "Umm Dad can I say something.." "Of course go ahead son, I was done anyways." "OK so as you all know I have been thinking about what I want to do with my life and I have finally decide.....

Well that's Chapter 2 , wonder what Johns going to say???? Guess we'll have to find out soon!!!
